Unwanted website :-(

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get rid of a website that comes on when I switch on my computer or when I'm already on it (on my main website). It comes all of a sudden (like a pop up) even though i haven't typed it as it's an unwanted website. It's weird. I 've tried in the "Tools" and "Options" to remove it in "Sensitive websites" but it comes back again. It's annoying. Who knows what I can do ? Thank's in advance.

What website is it? Curious...

What website is it? Curious...

scache.eorezo.com

^Oh well, could have been worse. It might have been MichelleFatmanus.com!!

Thank's, i'm going to have a look. :stunned:

Try right clicking on your internet icon (in my case it is internet explorer) on your desktop.

Click properties

It should say something like "Home Page" under a General tab

Check and see if your website is listed there. You can change it if you like.

Hope this helps

It's not in my main homepage. It comes up all of a sudden like an ad, 2 or 3 times a day or so. I've already noted it in the sensitive websites. (Tools, Internet websites, Security, Sensitive websites, Add this website). Now it comes up as a blank page, no scripts in the website. It's better than nothing but it's annoying nevertheless. Thank's anyway !

get a good adware removal program and scan your pc. This looks like adware that's stored a dll on your drive and a property in the registry to start a new page every random seconds.

I don't have a removal program. The website only pops up from time to time but not that often. It happens everyday though and it's blank.

Yeah i had that happen on my computer,i formatted the harddrive and re-installed everything.

Unfortunately, I don't intend to reinstall everything as it's a new computer and I have already installed everything from my old and slow computer on which I didn't have such a website.

Try Ad-Aware 2008 Free - that shall remove your problem hopefully. If not you can also try and scan your PC with a Tool called HijackThis.

It scans your PC for any adware or spyware and stuff. You can post the log here, maybe we can find something.

Thank's, but i prefer not to install other websites out of fear it gets worse or to catch other junk websites that pop up on my computer. For the time being, it only comes up twice a day or so. I'll see in the long run whether it gets worse, in this case i'll do something.

Both applications are entirely ad-free, I can assure you. Actually they're there to protect you from such bad websites and to get rid of 'em. But it's your cup o' tea, if you don't want to ;)

Oh and by the way: If you're still using the Internet Explorer, you better switch to Firfefox, it keeps the trouble away ;)

No, i'll keep Internet Explorer. I have always had this website that I enjoy. I think the website which pops up will go away by itself if i don't pay attention to it by only deleting it. It's indeed a spyware.
