1. It's too complicated but basically I have to choose one general subject of study.

2. If I knew that I wouldn't be asking you would I?

3. You're welcome, but in my defense, I'm bored and you seem smarter than other people here, so don't read too much into it.

Well I say music. Can you do that? If not, go into law. You can go anyway with a law degree. I don't personally like law. Maybe banking. All of those options are pretty boring though unless you do music. Art or photography would be good but im guessing you aren't the best in both as you would've told me. Basically you have two ways of looking at it:

~ Get a degree that will give you the best job oppourtunities, that give you money, which will hopefully make you happy.

~ Do a degree because you really enjoy it and want to learn more and find an alternative, different way of living such as a tv personality or a airplane driver. Or you could join the army. At least it takes you places.

Well of course I'd like to be a musician professionally whether that be making albums and performing or even being a studio musician or possibly music teacher. But those aren't very safe paths to go after, and with the economy the way it is, you gotta second guess every risk.

I feel I could go into Law or Medicine and do well in either, or go into Education or Psychology too, and I feel like if I put in the work I could do well. It's just a matter of picking something.

No Army. I'm a conscientious objector (aka coward)

You can always just do a law, medicine, education or phychology degree and come back to music later or do it at the same time, waiting for the breakthrough. If i ever get older, I'll see if I can help with that. Still a long way off though. Its good to know that you can apply yourself an any area. Its a useful skill. I'm much the same way.

Im also against joining the army.

The plan now is to try to start a college band and pray we can make something out of it. I'm never gonna quit music, and I'll always try to make a career out of it, even on the side.

But I need something realistic as a career. I can apply myself in many different areas, I just need to choose one specific one to pursue. I plan on going in with an undeclared major, taking a bunch of 101 courses, and deciding at some point after I've tested all the waters.

I'm not sure I would want to be a teacher though. I'd probably much rather do something more challenging and more rewarding (money-wise). Money doesn't necessarily equal happiness for me, but it sure is nice to have some.

But what career would I go into with my Law degree?

And which law school would I go to?

I dont know any schools in the USA. Go to the one closest to where you live. You would go into a career of being a lawyer or barister.

A lawyer who plays alternative-rock on the side?

Riiiiiiight....
