With all the money he made in Take That you'd think Mark Owen would be able to afford a couple of concert tickets.

But he blagged Coldplay tickets a few months ago by pretending to be frontman Chris Martin's mate.

Cheeky singer Mark, who's new single Four Minute Warning is out on Monday, tells Heat magazine: "I turned up at Earls Court and said Chris had put me on the guest list - I've never even met him." Tut tut.

Hahaha, funny thread!!!

But you know that if you used to be a popstar you can't buy tickets as normal people... it's cooler that the band put you on the guest list...

*noni turns ironic*

I guess he wasn't joking :o

They came to see Robbie Williams, but thousands of fans got a surprise last night when his old Take That pal Mark Owen joined him on stage.

The crowd went wild as the pair sang together for the first time in eight years at Robbie's Knebworth extravaganza.

Their hug sent fans delirious before they performed a nu-metal version of Back for Good.

To screams Robbie announced: "This is my old pal Mark Owen."

Celebrity Big Brother winner Mark's shock appearance coincided with his bid to make a big comeback.

And it was Robbie's way of paying him back for his years of loyalty since theboy band split.

Fan Grace Edwards, 22, told us: "It was the best moment during the whole concert.

"I was a Take That fan at school and when they split I was gutted, so tonight was very special.

"It was really gracious of Robbie to let him join him. It was great moment in pop history."

During the gig Robbie was cheered when he declared: "I'm proud to be British." It was the biggest concert of his life, playing to nearly 400,000 people over three nights at the site in Hertfordshire.

He performed a string of hits including, Angels, Millennium, and Let Me Entertain You.

But despite Mark's appearance, Robbie refused to end his bitter feud with Gary Barlow - who wrote most Take That numbers.

Pulling a face as the crowd sang along to old track Do What You Like, he announced sarcastically: "I wish I could write great songs like that."

Celebrities at the Polstar event included EastEnders stars James Alexandrou, Tamzin Outhwaite and Portsmouth striker Teddy Sheringham.

But later, some frightened fans claimed the concert could have turned into another Hillsborough because of the vast amount of people there.

Some left the gig before it started on Saturday for fear of being crushed.

They want an inquiry into the event which attracted the most fans ever for a concert in this country - 375,000.

Michelle Davison, 29, said: "It was utter chaos. It was a Hillsborough just waiting to happen.

"We were so tightly packed in we could barely move. We wanted to get out but couldn't."

The trainee lawyer, who was with her sister, will demand the £76 she paid for the two tickets back.

But, a spokesman for Hertfordshire Police said the situation was always under control.

He added: "If there had been any concerns then there would have been quick action taken."

On Friday, the concert was plagued by traffic problems with many fans missing the entire event.
