But I was watching the live 2003 documentary the other day, and realized that right as they were going into the bridge, Jonny strummed the strings above the nut near the headstock (Sort of the like Ed O' Brien does in 'Lucky") . Could this be how they made the high pitched sound on the album version? I always thought they used a keyboard, but it'd be really cool if it was actually Jonny make that sound.

Yeah, I do that too. During solos I'll just randomly pluck those strings, it's easy and it makes you look awesome.:dozey:

 

I'm relatively certain on the album version he just plucked normal frets. Something like 11th on G 12th on B and 10th on e or something, I can't remember but I've done it before:thinking:

Oh no, I know what he plays during the "give me love over..." bit, but I'm talking about before Chris starts singing, there's this sort of metallic high pitched effect...
