Yes you may not like her or her music. But what about her is unappealing to young girls? She's pretty, she sings good, she sings songs about friends and parties written FOR kids of that age, and she has a successful show that has comedy suited for someone of that age.

At that age, they don't really know what they like, therefore it's very easy for them to fall victim to the media "spin" machine.

That's why most people grow out of stuff like that and start appreciating decent stuff eventually.;)

I really think you're putting too much conspiracy into this. The way I see it, kids like a talented artist who has been nothing but a good role model, and no harm seems to be coming to anyone.;)

It is harmful in that it turns kids into clones and zombies, all liking the same thing because it's been pushed by the media.

I do agree that Miley Cyrus probably won't keep the success up. After the HM thing she won't have much appeal. I don't think she'll fall as far as some like Lindsay Lohan, but I don't think she'll have success like Hilary Duff (I heard she's still putting out new albums!:o)

Yea, Jamie Lynn Spears is a real horrible story. She was a role model for a lot of kids and she seemed like a decent person.

I don't have a problem with it. Music is suppose to be an emotional experience for people. Who am I to say that Hannah Montana is not good? It doesn't do it for me, but I know countless people who criticize Coldplay on the same grounds. And you know what, I don't care what other people think about Coldplay. I like it...even if there is more complex music out there.
