Changing subject: Ever had mango sorbet?

I don't think so... I was going to say that it's funny/interesting how we have changed subjects in this thread. We went from talking about cheetos to jaffa cake to other sweets to it being lonely in here with only two people talking to math to school subjects in general to english teachers/class...

Mango sorbet is good. I just had some and it was aweeesome!! It was from a gourmet ice cream shop.

(the second stanza is indented, but the forums here are stupid so I can't indent it)(no I don't know why I indented it, no reason at all xD)

and it's emo:

 

Liars

 

When every single step you take

fills you up with pain,

and you're always looking for a break

though you know you look in vain.

And when every morning that you wake

dread seeps cold through your brain,

when every grinning face you fake

is part of some sick refrain:

 

And through the fray

you make your way

hurrying down the lane

every single step you take

stifling groans of pain.

 

The liars sneer as you walk by

hurrying but still so slow

seperate from their lie

staggering with head down low

to stay away from their watchful eye.

The schemers and liars all suround you

I was going to say that I wanted to see it too. I don't think that I would be able to judge very well since I don't write poetry, but still. Reading it now!

Oh, I don't have any special version. Just the Parachutes one. I think it's better than frankly most of VLV (the album) -- I mean their new work is interesting but I'm discovering I really really really like Parachutes.

 

I was six when it came out so I couldn't really love it when it came out but I wub it now! :heart:

Hey, me too! I love Parachutes to death. :heart: It's probably my favorite Coldplay album. I do definitely prefer the band's older stuff (older as in A Rush of Blood to the Head era and everything before it) to their newer stuff.

Literally 80% of the people I know went through an emo OR poetry phase in seventh grade. I think a lot of middle-schoolers do that... interesting that it's the same case with you though. EDIT: OMG I HAVE 999 POSTS!!

Speaking of the term "emo"... I don't really think of it as something "real." It's merely a silly label, you know? Oh, and poetry of course doesn't have to be depressing. :laugh2:

 

Also, I forgot to say that I was pretty young when Parachutes came out, too, and I couldn't have really felt the way I feel about it now either. yeah.

no, poetry DOESN't have to be depressing, that's why I put OR in boldface, to say I'm not connecting poetry with emo or emo with poetry.

 

No, it definitely wasn't a "real" emo phase for anyone in seventh grade. The few suicidally depressed ones just acted like all the non-emo kids.
