Yesterday I got a virus link and... i clicked on it... :disappointed:

Anyways, now, it won't let me talk to my contacts and it's making me mad!! Anyone know how to fix this... I've changed my password and secret question...but i don't think that's helping... and before this, i even reinstalled this stupid thing....

Any HELP!!??!! i'm flipping here!

do you have an anti-virus?

check your whole system with it.

btw there's a new windows live messenger out, may be it has messed with the virus

never heard of this antivirus before...

do the protection level is high or medium?

put it on high if possible.

btw have your friends reported you about if the problem has happened in their wlm too?

(usually those viruses spread to your friends too).

Does it say that you can't log in and is it impossible to check your mails as well?

I've had that problem for one entire week and then suddenly it was working again.

I mean, could it be that it's not related to that virus?

Avast is a great program (as soon as you've disabled the audio notifications  they creeped me out!!), I use it as well...

The moral of the story is that if you ever get a random IM from one of your contacts with a link straight away, don't click on that link.

^thanks... :uhoh: i felt really dumb when i clicked on it :P

& SueDeNimes... haha... i know what you're talking about

This is why I usually have my speakers disconnected if I'm not using sound for music/game/MSN or something. Because those things pop up and scare the crap out of me sometimes.

To topic: I had the same problem as Dave(Kite) knows and I got it removed with reinstalling the windows,I didnt reinstall because of this virus of course, but know that password change doesnt help.

Edit: After reading all the posts I realize I havent brought anything constructive lol. Im glad youve solved it though.

Keep a backup of your contacts, just in case you have to jump msn accounts.
