Best Venue

Whats the best stadium/arena/showground youve ever been to?

Mine has to be for atmosphere the R.D.S in dublin, i love that place!

I think that my favorite stadium will be SanSiro in Milan, for my next (let alone first) U2 concert :nice:

In terms of large arenas, the NEC at Birmingham was great, though it's a few years since I've been.

My local, the Echo Arena, is a great space, but sadly, the people let themselves down :(

Arenas tend to be shit, although I am looking forward to Wembley

My favourite is actually the really intimate gigs, so all the smaller venues around Newcastle are great.

Small venue: The E-Werk in Cologne, Germany (where I saw Keane on Tuesday). Very intimate with a fantastic atmosphere.

Large venue: The O2 Arena in London. However, I only ever want to stand there in future.;)

This will require some thoughts.

Then you might have a problem!!:P

Not a big as a problem as you thinking the O2 is the best venue :P

Not based on the bands on the night, but on the venue itself:

Best 'big' venue - Either the Rose Bowl down Southampton for it's sound quality and ease of access to the M27 or Wembley Stadium

Best medium sized venue - Portsmouth Pyramid Centre, again for it's sound quality and that it has a carpet

Best small venue - Either Moles in Baths (it be underground) or the Thekla in Bristol (it be a boat) or Bristol Trinity Centre (it be an old church)

I love the Berkeley Greek Theater; it's outdoor, which is always nice on summer nights, and it's small and intimate. The sound isn't amazing, but it's not bad either. And it's all general admission, so you're almost guaranteed a front row spot if you get there early enough.

But I haven't been to very many venues.

Rose Bowl in Cali....

And The Gorge in George, WA.

A night time concert there, next to the river, the rolling hills, under the most awesome display of stars against the night sky....just amazing. Roll on Coldplay July at the Gorge!!
