Ne-yo, Busta Rhymes, Shontelle and Lemar on Coldplay

Featured Replies

That was....interesting.

Some of those bands I don't get, though. There were several bands mentioned that are VERY indie...and doesn't a band have to be a little more far-reaching than that? I mean, you may not know the music of the Beatles or the Stones, but you've heard of them.

I would say Coldplay is THE musical act. And I don't say that just because I'm a fan. Their influence is global.

I liked the Ne-yo comment about Chris' lyrics and how they're so open to interpretation.

It's very true and effective. And I'm sure Chris would be happy to hear that.

I didn't realise Ne-yo was such a huge fan, I agree Chris will be happy to hear that.

I just hope he doesn't agree to work with anyone of them... :uhoh: :P

^I would love to see Busta Rhymes And Coldplay, that'd be the funniest thing ever!!

I love what Ne-Yo said...

Chris Martin is almost saying: "OK, take these words and these melodies and determine your own adventure - what does it mean to you?" That's the question he's asking with the songs, as opposed to trying to force meaning on you.
You cut out all of the others :P

You make it sound like everyone is rooting for Coldplay when it's really about maybe 1/5 of the panel.

yeah, the others were quite an interesting read too. like how the guy from The Script says he's actually scared for Coldplay with U2 now back in the game with the new album.

& i liked how the guy from Beastie Boys throws in an off tangent answer with Hugh Jackman "He can sing, he can dance, he can be Wolverine. The man's an entertainer." hell yeah!

Actually i think alot of people dont like the new U2 album....... and its not doing as well as the band's reputation should (sales wise)

^

I agree....

Personally ...I dont like U2's new album dat much.....there is nothing new about it.

But yeah.....its nice to see that even the rappers love them.

n Ne-Yo's really cool....wasnt he the one who sed dat the Coldplay guys are gentlemen n he really respects them??.................something like that

Ne-Yo is awesome

Perfect description of their music and why I love it so much.

yeah, it isn't really performing up to the massive hype around their comeback & all. so i don't think Coldplay needs to worry at all...tho i don't think they do. & Bono has said that it's the "youngsters" like Coldplay & The Killers that U2 are worried about these days.

but i did like the new album as a whole, personally...maybe because the music sounds familiarly U2, like Magnificent or No Line On The Horizon. tho there are also songs on it i don't like outright, like Get On Your Boots.
