  1. YES! They're coming to Tulsa!!!! I'm just an hour away from the BOK center! I HAVE to see this show!! I've never seen Muse live before!!
  2. Congratulations Ian and Jen! How does little Sammy like his new sister??
  3. I haven't been here in so long! I was really looking forward to this album, seeing as this was my first release I had to look forward to because I got into the band after The Resistance was released. I've listened to the full album twice. And I'm just...meh. There was nothing that really grabbed me or compelled me to keep listening. There were a few good tracks, a few terrible ones, and the rest were just...meh. 1. Supremacy - Starts off well. I like the intro with full orchestra, but Matt's voice is so bizarre leading into the chorus. There's something off about it...perhaps because it was over-mixed. I don't know. And then the pace just kind of plods after that first chorus for me and looses steam. 2. Madness - Yuck! Absolutely hate the "mamamamamad, mad, mad" tripe! I'd liken it to the "wa wa waterfall"ing that Coldplay does. Except that this is more blatant. I think if they would've done that effect solely instruments it wouldn't not have been so cringe-worthy. For some reason, when I hear this song I see Matt Bellamy and Kate Hudson dancing a slow jam. I don't know why! 3. Panic Station - I think Violet compared this one to Prince. I first thought of David Bowie! haha! It's very David Bowie-ish to me. It's okay. I kind of dig it. But, again...it just doesn't scream Muse. It's so neo-funky rock-disco. 4. Prelude - Well, it's the lead in to Survival. And it's cheesy...very, very, very cheesy. 5. Survival - Oh boy, the first time I heard this was during the Olympic ceremonies. I hated it then and I hate it now listening to the album version. Some have said this is comparable to Invincible and the like, but I absolutely HATE Invincible with a passion! It's my least favorite Muse song ever....and now it's got a companion song to keep it company. 6. Follow Me - It's around this song that I have started to gather that Matt's voice sounds different. It really does. It's lower in timbre than normal and I'm thinking maybe his age and the years of use are starting to show. It takes me more time than it should to identify it's him. This song is just okay, as well. 7. Animals - Very good and one of the standout tracks on the album. I'm not jumping out of my seat in enthusiasm, but it's by far one of the best tracks. 8. Explorers - Can you free me from listening to this song for nearly 6 minutes?? Muse, why?! Why?! What the hell is that?? Woodblock? And now a tambourine?? And cheesy back-up chorus??! And then something about crops....and free me. Oh, good grief. This is my 2nd least favorite song on this album ahead of Survival. 9. Big Freeze - Another good track. Finally! Yay! 10. Save Me - I really like this one a lot. Put a beat to it and it would sound New Wave. It's a good track. 11. Liquid State - Another good one. For me, the latter half of the album is stronger than the former half of the album. I like that Chris gets to show off his vocals. 12. Unsustainable - I actually kind of liked the dubstep mixed in. I'm a bit intrigued by dubstep, but all of the extra soundbites that turn it into a newsreel are just not for me. 13. Isolated - Again, I get the concept, but it's just not for me. I already have panic attacks about the breakdown on civilization, so I'll just be skipping this and Unsustainable. All in all, I think it's their worst album. :/ That pains me to say since I've come to love them. I might just have to cherry pick off of iTunes what I want and leave the rest. OoS > BH&R > Abso > Showbiz > TR > T2L
  4. Damn, would it kill you to wash the dish off before you put it in the sink?!
  5. Okay, I'm thoroughly grossed out after watching that. I might not ever eat Nutella again. How is he not puking by the third bite??? It's just too sweet for me to do that.
  6. I think everybody has said what I'm thinking. Move on. It's going to be hard in the beginning because you are very emotionally attached and invested in this person, but she used you. Twice. And if you keep in contact with her, she'll do it again. She has low self-esteem so she uses people like you to make her feel better about herself. There are dozens of girls like her in every school in America and the world. Just steer clear of these types. You sound like a very nice young man and therefore deserve someone who will be appreciative of that.
  7. It's all good! Granted, I do listen to my iPod when I'm around the house instead of Spotify, Pandora, or XM......but I only listen to my CDs in my car. I don't have those fancy iPod hookups in my car. And I DO NOT listen to the radio.....it only plays crap these days. When the kids aren't around, I usually break out my vinyl and clean the house or browse the web. I can't listen to my vinyl while the kids around anymore because they are constantly sticking their hands into the turntable and messing up the records.
  8. Oh El Camino Real! Memories!!!!!! I played that in several high school concerts back in my day! One being my high school spring concert and the other two being honor band concerts! A great piece of band literature with horn parts that are sick, sick, sick!
  9. Yeah, I could see that. As a child and teenager, you just don't want your parents as your friends. They aren't supposed to be your friends. I'm 32 and my mom and I are close, but I wouldn't consider her my friend. She's still my mom even though I'm married with children of my own. /end tangent. Things I wish I could say............get over yourself. You started the fight and it should be up to you to make the first move and apologize! <----(wish I could say that to my friend who is fighting with their spouse.)
  10. Ahhh, Michelle Bachman has dropped out of the race. I can cancel my pending visa to live in Canada now.
  11. Your parents are your parents. They aren't your friends. Trust me, you don't want your parents to be your friends.
  12. This actually happened to me as well about 3 weeks ago! I told the person he had the wrong number, but he insisted he didn't! He kept insisting I was his friend playing a joke on him and when I reiterated that I was not and to leave me alone, he said he was going to find me and kick the shit out of me. I didn't text back. About 10 minutes later I got another text saying, "sorry, u wer rite. rong #"
  13. I do as well. That's why 5.1 gigs of that are CDs I've ripped to my computer to put on my iPod. :smug::smug: ETA, the other .2 gigs are stuff I've purchased from Amazon.
  14. Yes....Rebecca Black's "Friday" should be #1 on list of annoying songs. It's the ultimate annoying song.
  15. I have 5.39. I had no idea how many gigs I had until this thread! I didn't realize I had that much. I thought I just had 3 gigs.
  16. Antibiotics for this cold I'm trying to fight off.
  17. Youth is wasted on the young. Oh wait...I can say that out loud. :D
  18. $100 in cash, $50 worth of restaurant gift cards, a new black dress shirt for orchestra concerts, a ukelele, and candy.
  19. What if you helped compose science textbooks? Or got a job writing articles for science journals/periodicals. That way you'd be satisfying your want to write and staying within your field. Or, there's always teaching. I bet it wouldn't be too hard to get the few credit hours to make you eligible to take the tests to earn a teaching license. Teaching science at a middle school or junior high level isn't a huge responsibility, and it's fun at the same time. Most of my favorite science teachers were the ones I had in middle school and junior high......back in my day. ETA: This would be feasible choice because it would give you summers off to write and hopefully get published. :)

Completely rude. BTW, I'm so sorry you lack self esteem. Hopefully you can find some self confidence and one day be a better person because of it. I'm pulling for ya! Back on topic: I'd rather listen to Adele over Lady Gaga any day....even though I'm not a fan of either one of them.
  21. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQ6zr6kCPj8&ob=av3e]LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem ft. Lauren Bennett, GoonRock - YouTube[/ame]
  22. Aww..."okay" meme. If I really said those things to her, though, she'd be rageface meme. Trust me.
  23. Please stop calling me and trying to get together. I wish you would get the hint by my non-responsiveness that I don't want us to be friends anymore. We had a good run in college, but our lives are too different now. I have kids and you are still stuck in party mode. Our lives don't mesh anymore! Get the hint and either act your age or stop calling me!
