@ Penguin,

LOL, yes, both he and my Mom are addicted to the show.

But marry him? :inquisitive: Don't you think that's a little extreme?

By the way, I'd considered writing more today, and, just for grins, decided to look back at my new fic.

I'm disappointed in myself! :bigcry: I used slumber twice in the first two sentences! :embarrassed:

I could argue that all of my grammar mistakes came from keeping a large chunk of a manuscript that was made at the grocery store, but it's no excuse for my shoddiness! :bigcry:

I swear, the next one will be better. I promise.

No.

No of course it isn't too extreme.

WRITING?????

That's sweet music to my ears :D

Don't be silly!!!!

It was brilliant and you can't simply look at all those small things that I didn't even notice!

Focus on how great it was instead!

(and post more!)

I might post more tomorrow. Now I just have to decide which fic. to work on. :bomb:

While we're on the subject, how's TL comin' along? I need my daily updates. :P

Hahaha!!! Aww!!

I should really start picking up where I left off in my drafts :laugh3:

Anyways, so, Fan Fic. question time:

What are your opinions on:

Original characters.

Combining fandoms.

Sequels.

Ooooo! :D

1) This can honestly varies,

You see, a lot of main-character fanfics I have read is like you said previously, very Mary-Sue like, and I don't really get what the character is like, and then suddenly this character I don't get suddenly is with one of the band and I'm like :inquisitive:

But sometimes I read them and the main character doesn't seem completely flawless and perfect and has personality and I can get into it.

2) Oooh!! Depends what fandom I suppose, and whether I know it! :D but if I do I will probably love it!!!!

3) SEQUELS!!!!! :omgomg:

I'm a real sucker for a good sequel.

Sometimes I feel like stories I read NEED a damn sequel,

Maybe it's just because I want more, but still, I think they are fantastic because you already know the characters and the trials they've faced so with a sequel sometimes it can add even more emotion to it!

I'm already thinking up a sequel for TL.

But then again, I'm not sure.

Maybe it is just best stopped. :)

What about you??? :D

@ Penguin,

1. I'm an absolute sucker for good ol' slash, and personally have no desire to read about original characters in regards to fan fics. But if a story (with original characters) is good, I'll gladly read it.

In short, I come to this thread expectin' man-lurve. :dozey:

2. I love the idea of melding fandoms, (as this was the basis of my childhood, and how I passed the time) especially when it's a fandom I'm apart of and adore.

3. I do like sequels. They're so rare in fan fics, because, for example, once you tell the story of how C & J get together, there's not much else to do. Only a few writers in that thread have taken it further, which I like, but sometimes don't.

I'm a nit-picker is what I am. :embarrassed:

And, hmm, a TL sequel. That entirely depends on what note you end the first one on. Like if your fic. turns out to be Buckin', but you finish the book and they still haven't gotten together.

That would leave one helluva door open, don't ya think? :D

@Mar

Interesting!!! :D

So what are your thoughts on:

Horror fanfics.

Mixed PoV

Oh and as for the not yet written TL, I can't actually answer that question :D

My ideas might change, but what would you like to see happen? :D

@ Penguin,

I love horror fics! :D

Especially writing them. :sneaky:

And I don't mind reading mixed POV's, and I've even tried writing them in the past.

Let's just say I didn't get far, in that area. :dozey:

So, what do you think of horror? And what do you love more, jump-scares, or psychological horror?

Horror is wonderful!

I have been itching to write a horror story for a few days now, :D

Jump-scares are fantastic!! Adrenaline and all that, I always feel on edge when I read them, but I absolutely adore psychological horror!!! Passionately! :D

It really tears your mind apart and messes with every ounce of brain cells you have.

I think they also open your mind a bit if you get what I mean, I also just love craziness and irrational insanity! :wacky:

What about you? :D

Like I said, I enjoy writing it more than anything. :sneaky:

If I pull it off well, then you should be in for a treat.

Speaking of which, what kind of music do you like? What's your favorite song? And how long have you been a fan of Coldplay?

@Mar

A little over a year, :D

I love rock music, indie, and alternative.

Although my music taste, which also goes with my book/movie/story taste, is kind of both sides of the polar regions, I could happily listen to soppy love songs and cry, yet I love anything loud and dark and rocky.

Favourite song...Oooh, this is a tough one.

I would have to come back to you on that, I love so many songs.

Well, speaking today, I particularly like Boy Divison by MCR, and Writer by Ellie Goulding.

My favourite Coldplay song -today- because I could never choose my all time favourite, would probably be Christmas Lights :D

And you?

@ Penguin,

I love Alternative Rock, too. I also grew up with a lot of music from the 70's and 80's, since that's what my parents listen to.

I've been a fan of CP since the early spring of '09, and VLVODAAHF/PM EP was the first album I ever owned. And since I could never choose my fav. CP song hands down, I just go with Clocks, since it's one of the first songs I can remember.

Do you have any older music you like to listen to? Anything you'd recommend? :D

And what genre of music do you find hard to stomach?

@Mar

Oooooo!!!

That's so interesting!!! :omgomg:

Clocks is wicked :D

I do love a bit of swinging jazz and blues too if I am being honest!

I would have to say I don't like certain types of rap, anything that is stupid and monotonous I don't like, and some kinds of dance music. But I do have some exceptions :D

What about you in that matter? :D

@ Penguin,

Unlike the common belief that everyone from Texas is a fan of Country music, I honestly can't stand it, especially if it's contemporary. The only exception to this for me is Johnny Cash, who I've started listening to a lot lately. You know, when I'm not on CPing. ;)

I can't get into any Heavy Metal that is so distorted, that you can't identify one chord from another. And I don't enjoy Polka.

But Jazz... I've never really listened to enough of that genre to really give an opinion, so I don't know.

And I'm generally the same way when it comes to Rap/Hip-Hop and dance music. I don't hate all of it, but sometimes you just find a song that makes you grin like an idiot every time it comes on. :D

But if a song sounds like it was made for the sake of profit, it just drives me up the wall.

So switching gears a bit, what are your thoughts on parodies?

@Mar

I am ashamed to admit that I have never actually listened to any Johnny Cash.

Oh I completely agree!!!!

I like actually being able to HEAR the music!!!

And sometimes with heavy metal it can be very jumbled and what not.

But jazz is lovely!!!

And that annoys me so much too!!!!

Like half of the music industry only do it for the money!!!

Which winds me right up.

Ooooo!!

Parodies.

I'm guessing you mean like spoofs?

Because sometimes I find those quite hilarious.

Where they try to reinact music videos to be funny!!

Some of the Coldplay ones are quite funny!!

Some make me want to claw the makers face off.

If they are in good humour and not made to offend anyone I find them quite funny!! :)

-the funny ones of course! :D

And you? :D

@ Penguin,

Three words:

Weird Al Yankovic.

The parody king. :D

He's been around for years and years, and has spoofed the likes of MJ, and Gaga, plus several other pop songs, and has some original material, too. In case if you couldn't tell by my over-whelming enthusiasm, he's wonderful. :D

But yeah, I hate parodies that are made with malicious intent. It's like the great comedians say; you've gotta love what you satirize.

And a great Johnny Cash song to look up: Ain't No Grave. It still gives me chills.

So, what particular Jazz track/artist would you recommend? :)

@Mar

(IM BACK!)

I am going to YouTube this guy!!!!!

I love funny spoofs and if he is the king then I must watch!!!

I watched a funny spoof of Yellow and the guy playing Chris runs through a little kids sandcastle!!!

But that was the funniest thing about it.

It was a bit mean.

There was one of Speed of Sound too!!

Which was kind of funny!!

I am going to listen to this song!!!!!!

Ooooo, I don't actually know any jazz artists or anything, I just YouTube lots!!

But I find I particularly love the saxophone and bass bits!!

As well as the funky piano riffs and drum solos!!!!

And how is your writing coming along today? :D

Oh you have to check this out!!!! :laugh3:

@ Penguin,

I was actually writing out a draft of the potential ending of TWTUD, but other than that, no posting. Maybe I'll do something tomorrow, but still.

And it's raining over here!! :D I'm so happy, 'cause it's been hot as hell around here for weeks now, but that's Texas for you.

So, what's it like in your neck of the woods? :D
