A Sales Advisor in JJB recently talked me into getting some "advantage" card. I basically agreed to get it because I wanted her to shut up and process the transaction. I then received a letter a few days later saying that they couldn't give me a credit card because my credit rating was too bad. :thinking:

Nope, I did some research apparently there is a lot of people who got a card with the bank and got all kinds of random fees.

That is surprising as normally those store cards with interest rates of more than 25% take anybody.

 

Store cards are only good when they give you a discount.

YOu must have had some defaults against your name sally.

Or they are worried about giving out credit to someone who hasn't got much of a credit file.

 

A bad credit file is one thing, but having an non-existent one is prob as bad

ugh, I applied for a credit card last Thursday. They (the bank, a well-renowed one in the US) will tell me this week if I get approved for either $500 or $1000. I'm guessing I'll get it for $500 since my only income was my summer job and my financial aid at school.

 

I hope they reply quick, I need to buy my textbooks on Amazon
