Noel Gallagher For Producing Coldplay

Featured Replies

The now ex Oasis member stated in an interview in April this year that he would like to produce a coldplay album. In an interview for Hong Kong Magazine:

Have you thought about producing records for other people, like Bernard Butler does?N: I have produced several records but nothing came of of that...I'd still want to produce records for bands that I like though, like Coldplay. They've got their own stuff and I've seen them live many times. They're brilliant. (Anyone in particular you'd want to work with then?) No...my ambition stays inside Oasis. I wouldn't find myself saying "Hey, you know what?! I'd LOVE to work with 50 Cent!!". Nah...my hands are full with Oasis already.

Don't know about you but Noel producing for Coldplay would be awesome. He's co produced every Oasis album as well as single handedly producing Heathen Chemistry. So if Coldplay have any intention of taking a chance here it is. And if anyone goes 'pffff' just check out how he can experiment.

Also I'd like to point you in the direction of this early demo of Gas Panic before the band brought in Mark Stent. This was done all by Noel, recorded in his home before the departures of Bonehead and Guigsy from the band.

I think Noel would help bring them back to their roots, while still evolving...if that makes sense.

More rock-ish and less pop-ish.

Got it in one.

Noooo. But that [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mv6gYhzNDDY] Teotihuacan [/ame]

sounded great, so as long as he dosen't make Coldplay Oasis-y then maybe. But I would rather Johnny Greenwood:P

Nah JG will probably go off to write his own film score he's that talented. But Noel would never make Coldplay sound Oasis-y because he sees Oasis as one band and the only band that will sound like Oasis. He's got a very big musical pallet he's now ready to use.

Lol that would be bonkers.

But at least Coldplay would stop acting like sissies.

It'd also make Coldplay interesting to some who think otherwise. Less arty farty, more music. Noel's a very hands on guy who doesn't piss about going "ummm", "I don't know" etc. He'd be honest and forthright. He'd also make Coldplay's lyrics less abstract and more Morrisseyish - ambiguous but very clear.
