September 19, 200916 yr Author Maya > everyone else in america Gibson Les Paul vs Fender oh wiat a minute Phoeinicians vs Vikings
September 19, 200916 yr Gibson Les Paul vs Fender WIN, I still don't understand why Jonny uses Fender.
September 19, 200916 yr WIN, I still don't understand why Jonny uses Fender. Because it is the better guitar brand for the type of music he plays. Different guitars are better for different types of music. Les Pauls are usually good for heavy rock/metal as they have humbuckers and very deep tone. Fenders tend to have a more treble-y sound but sound very rich when played clean or with reverb/delay. Since Jonny rarely uses distortion, Fender Telecasters are pretty much the best guitar for his style.

September 19, 200916 yr The Casino is a hollow-bodied guitar with two Gibson P-90 pick-ups, and although generally come with a trapezoid tailpiece, often a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece is used in its place (either as a factory-direct feature and as an aftermarket upgrade). Unlike semi-hollow body guitars such as the Gibson ES-335, which have a center block to promote sustain and reduce feedback, the Casino and the Gibson ES-330 are true hollow-bodied guitars. This makes them lighter and louder when played without an amplifier, but much more prone to feedback than semi-hollow or solid-body electrics. Les Pauls and ES-335s are different guitars.
September 19, 200916 yr Les Pauls and ES-335s are different guitars. I was talking about brand. Not how they sound.
September 19, 200916 yr God.. I already knew that.. And come on. Ed O' Brien uses Gibson and he doesn't play heavy rock. And still, Epiphone is Gibson related. But it's not Gibson. And besides, that was a general statement, obviously there are variations between the guitars, even if they are the same brand. Some people have certain preferences, why do you care that Jonny uses Fender? It's a classic brand that makes quality guitars that lots of artists use, and they just happen to work great for Jonny's music. And FYI Ed has always played more music needing heavier, deeper tones than Jonny (i.e. Just, Paranoid Android, My Iron Lung)
September 19, 200916 yr [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtmS2ePSSdU]YouTube - Radiohead play The Smiths[/ame] Happy now? :P
