oh and i suppose youve tabbed every single thing youve posted?

And I guess your the real inventor of the wheel?

Just because you do something first doesn't mean I copied it.

And I won't bother posting in your thread, you annoy me and you just don't know when to let something go. The tabs in this thread are really unorganized, and I want no part of it. I will be posting my tabs again.

also, he didnt tab everything, but he hasnt taken credit for other people's work like you did.

And as I told you in the PM, you didnt just "borrow my chord chart", as you foolishly tried to make me believe, but you copied pasted, changed the name, and posted it. You arent even smart enough to conceal the theft.

I RAN AWAY
COLDPLAY

Tabbed by Nicolás Levy Renaud

Intro:
C#m - (G#m) - A - (G#m) x4

-Verse has same progression (same chords 8 times)-

I ran away from you
That's all I ever do
And though I started here
I ran away from you
I'm gonna come on in
And see it through,

I ran away from you
That's all I ever do
And when I heard you call
"Come back to me"
I know I should stay
I don't have the stomach to

CHORUS:
E F#
And Everyone I know says
      D A
I'm a fool to mess with you
E F#
   Everyone I know says
        D A
It's a stupid thing to do
E F#
I have your love on call
          D A
And yet my day is so full
               D A
There might be nothing left to do
    D A
So I ran away from you

C#m - (G#m) - A - (G#m) x4

Verse (same chords again -x8-):

I'm gonna come on in
My eyes are closed
I can feel it there
The sun's so close
I'm gonna come on out
And burn the sky
A star arose in my own cage
I'm stuck in life and in a cage
Just a single star
I sing for

CHORUS:
E F#
And Everyone I know says
      D A
I'm a fool to mess with you
E F#
   Everyone I know says
        D A
It's a stupid thing to do
E F#
I have your love on call
          D A
And yet my day is so full
               D A
There might be nothing left to do
    D A
So I ran away from you

A

VERSE 1:
               D
Then there was rain
    G D
The sky wore a veil of gold and green
   G D
At night it was the bright of the moon with me
 G D G

The sound foundations are crumbling
           G D
Through the ground comes a bit of a-tumbling
   G D
And time was just floating away
                     G
We can watch it and stay
                 (D)
And we can listen

Sometimes i just want it to slow down
C Em D
And we're separated now, i'm down
      C G

               D
Then there was rain

G D
My lonely little heart would've broke again
G D G
Time's still vicious

You win but with less than when you begin

Am G F
You're in control is there anywhere you wanna go?
Am G F
You're in control is there anything you wanna know?
Am G F
The future's for discovering
   Am G F
The space in which we're traveling

Am - C - F
or
just keep an Am hammering the B string

CHORUS:
Am C F
From the top of the first page
Am C F
To the end of the last day
Am C F
From the start in your own way
            G F
You just want somebody listening to what you say
                         D
It doesn't matter who you are

VERSE 2: (Same progression Am - G - F)
Under the surface trying to break through
Deciphering the codes in you
I need a compass,draw me a map
I'm on the top I can't get back
Whoah. Woah.

CHORUS:
Am C F
From the top of the first page
Am C F
To the end of the last place (that you were looking)
Am C F
From the start in your own way
            G F
You just want somebody listening to what you say
                         D
It doesn't matter who you are
                        (Am)
It doesn't matter who you are

Am - C - F
Am - C - F
Am - C - F

            G F
You just want somebody listening to what you say
                         D
It doesn't matter who you are
                (Am)
It doesn't matter who you are

OUTRO:
        F Dm
Is there anybody out there who is lost and hurt and lonely too
        Am G
Are they bleeding all your colours into one
                 F
And if you come undone; as if you'd been run through
    Dm
Some catapult that fired you
   Am G
You wonder if your chance will ever come
                            F
Or if you're stuck in square one.

song:VIVA LA VIDA
by COLDPLAY
album:VIVA LA VIDA or DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS

           -----------------------
Update on 5/19/08 - added no capo version
           -----------------------
These are all basic chords if you use a capo on the first fret.
if you dont have a capo, C becomes C# , G becomes G#,
Em becomes Fm, D becomes D#, Bm becomes Cm.

Weird synthetizer/violin thingy arranged for guitar. Try to change between
normal and power chords when you feel like it, or it just will be too monotonous.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STANDARD TUNING - CAPO 1

INTRO: C - D - G - Em x2

(Em) C D
I used to rule the world
          G Em
Seas would rise when I gave the word
                    C D
Now in the morning I sleep alone
         G Em
Sweep the streets I used to own

C - D - G - Em x2

(Em) C D
I used to roll the dice
         G Em
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
             C D
Listen as the crowd would sing:
         G Em
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

(Em) C D
One minute I held the key
        G Em
Next the walls were closed on me
                         C D
And I discovered that my castles stand
    G Em
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

 C D
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
G Em
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
C D
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
  G Em
My missionaries in a foreign field
C D
For some reason I can't explain
G Em C D
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
        Bm Em
That was when I ruled the world

C - D - G - Em x2

(Em) C D
It was the wicked and wild wind
             G Em
Blew down the doors to let me in.
                         C D
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
      G Em
People couldn't believe what I'd become

(Em) C D
Revolutionaries wait
       G Em
For my head on a silver plate
                  C D
Just a puppet on a lonely string
  G Em
Oh who would ever want to be king?

 C D
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
G Em
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
C D
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
  G Em
My missionaries in a foreign field
C D
For some reason I can't explain
 G Em
I know Saint Peter will call my name ,
  C D
never an honest word
             Bm Em
But that was when I ruled the world

C - Em x3
D x2

C - D - G - Em x2
(Ohhhhh Ohhh Ohhh)

 C D
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
G Em
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
C D
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
  G Em
My missionaries in a foreign field
C D
For some reason I can't explain
 G Em
I know Saint Peter will call my name ,

Well guys I finally added a no capo version for you guys with no capo...

TUNED HALF STEP DOWN - Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb

INTRO: D - E - A - F#m x2

(F#m) D E
I used to rule the world
          A F#m
Seas would rise when I gave the word
                    D E
Now in the morning I sleep alone
         A F#m
Sweep the streets I used to own

D - E - A - F#m x2

(F#m) D E
I used to roll the dice
         A F#m
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
             D E
Listen as the crowd would sing:
         A F#m
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

(F#m) D E
One minute I held the key
        A F#m
Next the walls were closed on me
                         D E
And I discovered that my castles stand
    A F#m
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

 D E
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
A F#m
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
D E
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
  A F#m
My missionaries in a foreign field
D E
For some reason I can't explain
A F#m D E
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
        C#m F#m
That was when I ruled the world

D - E - A - F#m x2

(F#m) D E
It was the wicked and wild wind
             A F#m
Blew down the doors to let me in.
                         D E
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
      A F#m
People couldn't believe what I'd become

(F#m) D E
Revolutionaries wait
       A F#m
For my head on a silver plate
                  D E
Just a puppet on a lonely string
  A F#m
Oh who would ever want to be king?

 D E
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
A F#m
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
D E
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
  A F#m
My missionaries in a foreign field
D E
For some reason I can't explain
 A F#m
I know Saint Peter will call my name ,
  D E
never an honest word
             C#m F#m
But that was when I ruled the world

D - F#m x3
E x2

D - E - A - F#m x2
(Ohhhhh Ohhh Ohhh)

 D E
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
A F#m
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
D E
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
  A F#m
My missionaries in a foreign field
D E
For some reason I can't explain
 A F#m
I know Saint Peter will call my name ,
  D E
never an honest word
             C#m F#m
But that was when I ruled the world

E Asus4 A
When it started we had high hopes

Now my back's on the line

But night makes a fool of us in the daylight

E - G - A - E x2

Yeah we were dying of frustra---tion
      Am G Bsus4
saying Lord lead me not into temptation
E Asus4 A Am G
But it's not easy when she turns you on

E G A E
If you'll only, if you'll only say yes

Whether you will's anybody's guess
E G A E
God, only God knows I'm trying my best
       C B E
But I'm just so tired of this loneliness

E - G - A - E x2

E Asus4 A
So, up they picked me by the big toe
     Am G B
I was held from the rooftop then they let go
E Asus4 A Am
Dizzily screaming "let the win---dows down"

not quite!!! I'll be making a greater input after exams finish so stick around folks:)

oh and by the way,

Can we please all make the effort to get along! We all love the music of Coldplay. And we can all share that appreciation for Coldplay on this thread! I think this thread is a great idea because I've learned alot from the tabs. However, we really need to all get along if we want tabs. If that means getting proper permission for tabs or referencing them correctly please do so or we are all going to end up hating each other and I believe that'd be a really big shame! :(

So I think we can all take a few words from Chris Martin:

"I wanna live life, never be cruel,

I wanna live life, be good to you..."

While we're on the topic I didn't actually know til these arguments came up that copyright on tabs was such a major issue. As a result the A Rush of Blood To The Head tab i posted is not all mine. It's based on someone elses and I've revised it. However, I've lost the source. If i do find it back I'll post it up straight away.

Goodnight and keep rocking!
