Instruments that really stand out in certain Coldplay songs

Featured Replies

Is it just me or in some songs do certain instruments really stand out? I think in "For You" the bass part really gets my attention for some reason...and in LiTii i only hear the drums...is this weird? :laugh3:

No, it isn't. That's why I listen to Coldplay--because certain instruments are highlighted in the songs and you can see each member's genius at work. :)

For Lovers in Japan, the drumming stands out overall, but the bass at the end really pops out. I love it! And for the strings part in Politik, sometimes I hear each individual note in the chords the strings play.

I'm not crazy after all :D And the piano in LIJ always is continuous in my head

*plays chords* Oh, I love that song, it was my first real introduction to the entire world of Coldplay! Without it I'd still be listening to Viva la Vida and Violet Hill and claiming that I'm a fan!

What else can I say that stands out...

Guy's fantastical bass playing on every X&Y track and in In My Place, and the quirky little bass line for Rainy Day.

Jonny's little guitar strumming on Speed of Sound...

Chris's piano playing in Trouble, and his voice in Easy to Please, Green Eyes, and Yellow.

Will's drumming in Glass of Water, Politik and Strawberry Swing.

Um...lemme think. In Low the bass is like the only thing I hear, and in IMP I only hear drums or I only hear guitar, it seems to depend on my mood:thinking:

Or I RAN AWAY!!!

You hear mainly the bass!!!

The bass in Daylight is BRILLIANT!

In my Place - Drums = perfection

The guitar in Warning sign :wacky: Especially the first verse, when it's just Chris' voice and the guitar, it's so sooothing.

Chris' voice in Swallowed in the sea, A message, Shiver, Amsterdam, etc, etc...

The drums are so good in Death and all his friends, how they build up is just perfect.

And I agree with LiTii, bass and drums FTW!

And I just thought of A rush of blood to the head on Live 2003, the guitar part after the verse chrorus is :shocked2::shocked2::shocked2::shocked2: Makes me shiver every time.
