Strange or Exotic Fruit You've Tasted

Featured Replies

I am an exotic fruit junkie. I have tasted more than I can remember. Which ones have you tried?

My favorite is from the Strawberry Tree, the fruit tastes like cotton candy:nice:

Or the Ice Cream Bean that tastes like vanilla ice cream.....

Here are some cool websites if you are ever in South Florida, be sure to go. Amazing and delicious.

I like Mango and Kakhi a lot :cheesy:

on the other hand i can't have Maracuja.

Ari, Mango is amazing, I've had lots of varieties including one from Spain called Osteen.

I love Kakhi, we call them Persimmons here:)

On another note, how do you change a mispelled word in the thread title. I need to spell fruit right.

ugly fruit is great. A cross between a grapefuit and a tangerine. Yummy.

believe it, my dad wanted to plant a Mango tree (really the huge seed) in our garden  he gave up the idea when he knew that gets to 30 meters height. :freak:

i had not tried many varieties yet i think.

and Kakhi was a recent discover, seems so far tropical fruits are better to me than european fruits.

to change i think you have to edit your first post and change the title. *not an expert*

Thanks Ari, I figured it out:nice:

I agree, tropical fruits are my favorite. More depth of flavor and variety than European fruits.

Some mango trees can stay really small. There are many varieities that don't get more than 6 feet tall yet produce tons of amazing fruit:)

Kakhi is great. The season for that is about to be here:nice:

Your first lesson is to watch Karate Kid 4 times in a row, that will prepare you for what lies ahead.

I'm not sure If I have the strength for that Nick. I mean, Karate Kid is 80's classic cheese, but after the second time through, I may have to slit my wrists. I am weak you see.

Hmmm I've eaten durians (i don't like them) and dragonfruit and pomegranates. So far pomegranates are my favorite.

Durian, is nasty, though I have never had it fresh.

Dragonfruits are delicious and Poms are truly great.

The dragonfruit I've tasted before didn't taste like anything. It was the white kind.

And as for Poms...*NOM NOM NOM*

You should try the red kind if you can find it. Tons more flavor. Very sweet.

They all look delcious! Except for the white ones since I've tried them before.

Yeah, the white ones are pretty bland. You would like the red ones:)

  • Author
What do the red ones taste like?

Like a kiwi. Not as sweet though.

Have you ever had the gold kiwis?

Mango exotic? Seriously?

I love exotic food, so I always eat the strangest thing I find. But the more delicious fruits were on the Amazon

There are hundreds of Mango varieites so some can be exotic I guess. Most people have never had a fresh picked mango:)

Also, the Amazon fruits are some of the best. Have you had Canistel or Jaboticaba?

I think so. I Tasted so many that I dont remember! :P
