Parachute High Speed Guitar Effect HELP

Featured Replies

Can Anyone PLz Tell me how to get the guitar sound setting of the song High Speed and the effects used.

i suppose jonny is using his Jaguar or Jazzmaster, that sound is not coming from a thinline (that's what my ears say :D ).

um, then i would take the Jaguar and switch the Out-of-Phase Switch on, using both pickups...

effects: delay

else: switch to the rhythm circiut/circuit/circut/whatever (how do you spell that?) during the verses

Jonny didn't even have a thinline back then, he used his jerry donahue blue tele.

did he use the jerry d. tele for High Speed or just generally, instead of a thin?

however, he DID have a thin... at least for their tour & live appearances (see on youtube, "Coldplay live Spies", must have been chicago or whatever, 2001)

Just use reverb and delay. Set the delay to speed the notes are played at. So if you were to play one note the delay 'bounces back' at the same speed. Get what i mean?

generally. Yes, he did buy his now favorite thinline (as featured in that amazing live spies video) in 2001. But before that he only had his donahue tele, jag and jazzmaster. During the AROBTTH he kept the lake placid for GPASUYF and Trouble, but now its pretty much retired.

here are two concerts from 2000 after parachutes was released. If you follow the related links you'll see he uses the blue tele for spies, high speed, pretty much everything except yellow and shiver.

Chris indeed used a Marshall.

It's the Marshall JVM 410C, it looks exact like it.

watch trouble at bizarre festival 2000 ! it's a black one! (i assume he got a black and a blue one?)

^thanks for bringing that up because I honestly had never seen that vid before (had to search for trouble separately). And yeah, I've seen that black tele a couple times before, as he used it to play trouble at the brit awards. Sometimes I've thought it was just the lighting, as its essentially the same guitar model and pickguard, but obviously he wouldn't tour with just one telecaster, and trouble has a different tuning.
