Josh42
from Joy Ride to Neon Tiger. Some of the greatest lyrics in the history of music. Joy Ride: There's something in the distance A glorious existence A simple celebration A place you've never been before (Why don't you kiss me And tell me that you want it?) A Dustland Fairytale...ummmm...one of the most emotional songs I've ever listened to. A Dustland Fairytale beginning With just another white trash county kiss in '61. Long brown hair, and foolish eyes. He looked just like you'd want him to Some kind of slick chrome American prince. Blue Jean serenade Moon river what you do to me? I don't believe you. Saw Cinderella in a party dress, she was looking for a nightgown. I saw the devil wrapping up his hands, he's getting ready for the showdown. I saw the minute that I turned away, I got my money on a pawn tonight. Change came in disguise of revelation, set his soul on fire. She said she always knew he'd come around. And the decades disappear Like sinking ships but we persevere. God gives us hope but we still fear, we don't know. Your mind is poisoned. Castles in the sky, sit stranded, vandalized. The drawbridge is closing. Saw Cinderella in a party dress, she was looking for a nightgown. I saw the devil wrapping up his hands, he's getting ready for the showdown. I saw the ending where they turned the page, I threw my money and I ran away. Sent to the valley of the great divide Out where the dreams all hide. Out where the wind don't blow, Out here the good girls die. And the sky moves slow Out here the bird don't sing Out here the field don't blow Out here the bell don't ring Out hear the bell don't ring Out here the good girls die Now Cinderella don't you go to sleep, it's such a bitter form of refuge. Why don't you know the kingdoms under siege and everyone needs you Is there still magic in the midnight sun, or did you leave it back in '61? In the cadence of a young man's eyes. Out where the dreams all hide This is Your Life Crooked wheels keep turning Children, are you learning? The sky is full of dreams But you don't know how to fly I Can't Stay And there are twisted days that I take comfort Cause I'm not the only one No, I'm not the only one There is a majesty at my doorstep There is a little boy in her arms Now we'll parade around without game plans Obligation or alarm Neon Tiger I don't wanna be kept, I don't wanna be caged, I don't wanna be damned, oh, hell I don't wanna be broke, I don't wanna be saved, I don't wanna be S.O.L Give me rolling hills, so tonight could be the night that I stand among a thousand thrills Mister cut me some slack, 'Cause I don't wanna go back, I want a new day and age Come on girls and boys, everyone make some noise! EmmaLouiseSmyth
I've never probably thought about the lyrics on this album. :D Very lovely lyrics indeed. Dustland Fairytale has to be my favourite song on that album.
ivet
This is a little creepy but I was actually looking at a couple of this songs (ADF and NT) yesterday b/c of the lyrics... our English class is analyzing poetry and such and i thought i'd request a song... ADF came to mind b/c yes, I agree with you, it has really powerful lyrics. BFlow is just a great songwriter, overall <

The Escapist
Dustland Fairytale is epic. Have youse read the lyrics for Goodnight, travel well? It is also one of the best songs Ive heard in a long while. The unknown distance to the great beyond Stares back at my grieving frame To cast my shadow by the holy sun My spirit moans with a sacred pain And it's quiet now The universe is standing still There's nothing I can say There's nothing we can do now There's nothing I can say There's nothing we can do now And all that stands between the souls release ? This temporary flesh and bone We know that it's over now I feel my faded mind begin to roam Every time you fall And every time you try Every foolish dream And every compromise Every word you spoke And everything you said Everything you left me, rambles in my head There's nothing I can say There's nothing I can do now There's nothing I can say There's nothing I can do now Up above the world so high And everything you loved And every time you try Everybody's watching Everybody cry Stay, don't leave me The stars can't for your sign Don't signal now And there's nothing I can say There's nothing I can do now There's nothing I can say There's nothing we can do now Goodnight, travel well Goodnight, travel well And there's nothing I can say There's nothing I can do now

It's one of those that makes you think. While its a polarizing subject, I always though that human was lyrically underappreciated . +1 Pay my respects to grace and virtue Send my condolences to good Hear my regards to soul and romance They always did the best they could And so long to devotion You taught me everything I know Wave goodbye, wish me well You've gotta let me go Are we human? Or are we dancer...
