Coldplay or Radiohead: Who's Bigger in the U.S.? (unfavourable article)

Featured Replies

That article is just very biased, that guy obvisiously hates coldplay so how can he really compare them when he's not looking at both equally.

I haven't really heard Rh except for like one song. But I don't feel like listening to their stuff cuz they seem like jerks. I really dislike them, and im not basing that on their music just them.

Coldplay are better to me because they have lovely music and are nice guys. Rh may have good music(so I've heard) but I don't care about them, and if they were so great, I think more people would like them....

Thom Yorke is a pretentious, miserable **** of the highest order. The other band members of Radiohead are fine but Yorke - well he can go and do one for all I care. The critical reception to Radiohead is guff largely with many of reviewers too scared to talk negatively about them.

To prove my point - one reviewer said that Kid A predicted 9/11. No, I am not joking. The ultimate judge at the end of the day is the people and if they were as great as these reviewers made out then they'd have sold 10 times the amount of albums they have. They haven't and that is telling.

Radiohead is much larger here. I wish they were about even but unfortunately they are not. I think it might be because Radiohead has been around so long. The 90's gave many bands commercial success

NO , they are not . Actually , EMI stated in 2007 that radiohead had sold over 25 million albums + singles up until that time . Add it 2 million from in rainbows .

Whereas Coldplay , only with 4 albums ( and in times where albums don't sell as much as the 90's) have sold over 50 million records.

Not to mention the ammount of certification that Coldplay has , radio airplay , chart positions etc

Within the US , there's not really discussion . The fact that Coldplay has sold 12 million albums + almost 10 million singles where Radiohead 5 million and only 2 top 40 singles it really shows

I think that if a reviewer is to say thy don't like radiohead they would just lose credibility and many times that may pressure them to say that radiohead are great.

Rh may be good or whatever, I mean if coldplay like them :P, but not as amazing as people make it out to be.

Oh and chris has a much more beautiful voice in my opinion

Ewh at all the Radiohead hate in this thread. :disappointed:

As for popularity in the US, I'd have to say they're both about equal. I don't know anyone who hasn't heard of either band; in fact, most of the people I know love both of them about the same. :P

*can't think of anything else to say.....* :|

DUH GUYZ IT'S OBVIOUSLY RADIOHEAD.

They have 5 members and Coldplay has 4. Not to mention Ed O'Brien is freakishly tall. (this rhymes if you have a British accent like me. :))

Similarities:

-A member named Jonny

-Bald or balding drummer

-Both have a handsome Guy / Ed
