I was just thinking about the things we are going to do there and I wanted to ask you if you know a music shop or a good record shop there....?

I am just interested, because I work in a music shop myself and I'd love to see one in England....

and

anything else to recommend there?

thanks guys...

well I will only be there for one day haha....so I want to see as much as I can...and I want to shop as much as I can...:wacky:

There is a really yummy record shop in the indoor section of Camden market, up towards Chalkfarm... probably the only worthwhile shop in Camden, actually, other than the world-y religious stalls in the indoor market near the bridge.

If anyone good is playing and it's not too late to get tickets, go and see someone at either The Koko (Camden again, I'm afraid) or Union Chapel (Islington, North London, near Camden)... both really delicious and beautiful venues. I saw Animal Collective and Andrew Bird at each respective venue last year and have to say I enjoyed them more than any festival I've ever been to. I cannot stress how important it is you try and see a band at one of them while you're in town.

I forget what its called but if you're more into 'music shops' than record shops theres a road in London thats deservedly famous for it! I forget what its called but its the same road The Astoria (venue) used to be on, before(?) they shut it down. Google can help you.

Enjoy the city.

Do you mean Denmark Street? It's full of music shops. I bought my bass there. It's great (the street I mean...the bass is ok too, I guess).

Camden is a good place for record shops. I go there basically every week.

This site http://www.londonnet.co.uk/ln/out/music/record-shops.html has a good list of independent record shops rather than just the usual HMVs etc, I've bought from Rough Trade online before and they've got a shop near Covent Garden which is a great place to visit anyway. If you do want HMV there are several small branches and a huge flagship store on Oxford Street.

Are you taking the Eurostar Julia? If so I'll cross my fingers for you, everything is so fucked up with this damn snow!

Anyway, you're gonna have so much fun! Enjoy and take a lot of piccis for us :cheesy:

no...I am going to go to france by bus and then I will go to england with a ferry boat:wreck:

I'm so scared

I've done that in 2000. It was great!!

Don't worry, it was a bit stormy and the ferry was shaking but I didn't feel sick at all.

If it's too stormy the ferry doesn't ride anyways!

On the way back I went through the tunnel and that was boring.

I'm sure it'll be fun! :nice:

^See? Not that scaring :nice:

Anyway, it's better that you're going there by ferry, otherwise I'm not sure you could've made it!
