The most amazing thing is happening right now!

I'm chewing gum! :wacko:

Now that may not sound amazing, but I just got my braces removed after over 3 long years of no gum chewing. And as a former gum addict (I chewed about 2 packs a day no joke), braces was just about the worst news I could get. But now the waiting is over, and I can again eat popcorn, gummy worms, malted milk balls, Kashi cereal, sesame seeded bread, apples (bitten directly into, I've had to cut them up), and most of all..I can chew gum once more!

:braces: ---> :D

I'm happy. :D

PS. It's Stride Wild Berry flavor gum, cuz I know you're all wondering. Oh and I look forward to trying 5 Gum, which came out after I got the braces.

Yeah. Got them on freshman year and now I'm halfway done with senior year.

Nope, my parent didn't let me buy any gum.

That's cool! And a weird coincidence.

Woah. I've been wearing braces since the end of August (last year) and I'm probably getting them removed in about 7 weeks. I'm lucky, eh?

Congrats btw, I bet you're enjoying now.

:stunned: my parents were never that strict with them.

I know :laugh4: I hope it's tomorrow :sad: my dentist said it would be tomorrow but there's a tiny chance that it might be about 6 weeks from now.

I got all used to them until I yesterday got those elastic things that are supposed to move my jaw forward, they're annoying. And I can't eat with them on (tbh I haven't tried), I was starving today until I got back home from school.

I'll get used to those too, eventually, I guess.

Yeah I remember getting those. If they're removable just take them out to eat, that's what I did. Just make sure you wear them AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE or it will extend your time. I had these for an extra 4 weeks due to lack of wearing those bands at one time.

congrats!

i had braces myself... I remember it felt really weird to get them taken off again.

although they said not to, i still chewed gum w/ braces... yeah... i'm a rebel :P

do you have to wear a retainer?

@Nick

I got told to remove them before meals, yes, and before brushing my teeth. The problem is that I couldn't do that at school. Maybe I'll find a way around that, but for now it sucks.

Yeah I got a non-removable one on the back of my bottoms today..in 2 weeks they'll give me a removable front-top standard one.

I had to spit out my first piece of gum. My jaw and teeth are tired, I need to ease myself back into my addiction!

tbh I never wore them to school. or I'd wear them but right before lunch remove them and just put new ones in when I got home.

I am glad it will be removable, I don't want visible metal in my mouth at college! :laugh3:

We were too poor for that. Plus I had to get mouth surgery during my braces (it's why I got them in the first place) so Invisalign wasn't an option.

yeah

did you post in the wrong thread that video? :lol:
