When Noel Gallagher first left the band, his brother Liam said they'd continue making music without him. He rubbed salt into Noel's wounded ego even further when he announced that they'd be taking the name Oasis 2.0. Obviously, that's a terrible name for a band, but it would have been so deliciously spiteful. Regardless, Liam has now announced that the band will not be using the name Oasis at all. In a recent interview with XFM, he revealed that they'd changed their minds about the name. “No, it's not Oasis, that was a shit name anyway,” he said. “I'm glad to see the back of it.” As to what the project will be called, Liam is keeping mum. “There's a name that we're digging at the moment, but we're going to get on with the music and see how it goes.” We're guessing it's taking every ounce of his self-control to not call the band No Noels Allowed. February 10, 201016 yr ^heh. My favorite is Noel's stories about award shows where Oasis has won... -And the winner is Oasis! Liam- Boo you're shite! Bandmate - that's us. Liam- what? Yeah, of course we won. And then he acts like nothing happened. But yeah, in the articles I read on it, after all these years of Liam saying that Oasis was the best band name in all of history, he now says that Oasis in general sucks as a name.
