I picked up a copy of the Blue Room EP Japanese release at my local music store today, just thought it looked kinda cool or for a good price I was like why not? I haven't cracked the shrink wrap on it yet or anything so I'm not sure if its in good condition, the sleeve the CD case itself though looks quite unharmed. I looked around on ebay and such to see if it was worth anything, and I found something odd. All the other Blue Room EPs have you know, 4 or 5 tracks. The version I bought has 16. The first track is Bigger Stringer (I know the songs name is actually Bigger Stronger but it is printed as Bigger Stringer on the CD) , then See You Soon, then the Rush of Blood to the Head album in its entirety, all 11 tracks, then Spies, Shiver, and closes with Yellow. So what did i buy exactly and is this worth anything at all? Thanks in advance for the help guys :)

Chinese releases are usually "official", I mean, the Chinese record label knows and authorises them, but the music market there is completely without control, there are a lot of compilations from artists that you think are fake but they are not because the Chinese branch of the record label releases them.

It would be great to know what EMI International (in this case) thinks of these releases.

well it's definately not an orignal one, since the songs on there are also from way after the blue room was released. I doubt it's an official release, these compilation albums hardly are official I think.

Well it only cost me 5 bucks ha, so no big deal. I got curious last night and cracked it open, the casing has a large crack on the back but everything else is in nice shape. CD itself is practically perfect. But thats what I was thinking, the thing about Rush of Blood to the Head being way after The Blue Room and all, so no biggy, I would just chuck it out, but the album art is pretty sick so I'll probaly keep it, even though it appears to be worthless, I'll just rip the first 2 tracks I guess, only two I dont have already. haha all tracks are as they say they are, well at least the intros are. for all I know the middle could be filled with some Chinese dude screaming about Communism and stuff, but I got 2 tracks at least and a interesting CD package. Guess I'll throw it on my shelf for a neat memory, kinda useless to me, but who knows, it will probaly make me smile again someday when I'm old and rotting ha.

yeah, theres a huge crack on the back of the CD case itself but theirs a sleeve that goes over the case and the sleeve has the album art and everything on it and looks pretty sweet, it may be a somewhat bootleg release but it looks pretty sick! glad I decided to buy it
