He has some good songs but honestly I can't get past his extremely nasaly voice.

Good try. Free Fallin' is an incredible song. Keep at it.

Just get his greatest hits for starters. I would recommend every single song on there without exception. One of the strongest greatest hits albums ever, IMO.

American Girl is awesome

Anything on "Greatest Hits" is fantastic. I also love "Anthology..." as it digs a little deeper. I love rockers like "Change of Heart" and "Love is a Long Road." That's in addition to the big hits. And, yes, American Girl is kickass.

Some of his songs sound too 80's to me. Which I have a big problem with...

I quite like him, though.
