Guitar & Air Conditioner?

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a quick question about my guitar and my air conditioner. I want to know if it is safe to have my acoustic and electric guitars in the same room as my air conditioner? I only put my air conditioner on at night and sometimes during the day if its hot out. I was just wondering if the cool air or the hot air is better? And also, should I do the same for my amp? Thanks! :)

I'm not sure it would make much of a difference either way unless it was extreme cold or heat?

It's probably better, because as you probably know, heat makes things expand. if you keep the room at a nuetral temperature it should prevent the strings from detuning.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be better, but the thing is, that I put it on at night and shut it off all day, so it goes through a rapid temperature change.

Shouldn't be much of a problem, just keep it in a shaded place

biggest problem would probably having to retune more frequently. The amp shouldn't be a problem however I would use common sense that extremes of temps should be avoided, but unless you are freezing the room out at night and heating it up like an oven during the day, it should be ok with the changes its experiencing now.
