Kathryn Calder

You know, there are a lot of things that sicken me on this forum, but you know what sickens me the most? Not having a place to post pictures of Kathryn Calder.

If you haven't heard of her, it's no surprise, as she's basically the overlooked child in The New Pornographers who occasionally fills in for Neko Case during live shows when Neko is off with her solo touring. Recently, she's been given lead vocals on a few songs. Oh, and she's also Carl Newman's niece, which I guess is pretty cool (although I'd never want to be in a band with my uncle). Neko, Dan Bejar, and A.C. Newman all have fairly successful solo projects, and Calder has recently started her own. She released her debut solo album at the end of June - Are You My Mother?

Kathryn has had the misfortune of constantly being compared to Neko Case, especially when she has to fill in for her, but her solo material really showcases her individual talent.
