WE DON'T SAY ABOOT :snobby:

At least where I am. :P

One of my teachers said ABOOT and also HOOSE for house. :P

He's not from Canada though.

Bad pronunciation topic? :surprised:

Alternate angles as akernert angles. :|

Calcium carbonate as calcium kaybornut. :|:|

I hate how some people pronounce calcium as kel-ci-um. It makes me look up every time 'cause it sounds like they're saying my name. :freak:

That sucks.

Just curious, how do you guys pronounce Ly? Is it Lai or Lee?

Btw, I like your avatar. Such a nice feel to it.

:laugh3:

i don't know why it is this, but when somebody says my name, i can hear it even if it was said downstairs, or outside, or far away in other room :D

That sucks.

I don't know, I'd say Lee because in your case it's short for Emily.

Thanks

haahah that's funny...because we had some guests from Australia 5 years ago....and I didn't know anything about australian stereotypes...but now I remember that I noticed that one guy always said "G'Day" and he gave us vegemite when they left:wacky:

I kinda have to wonder whether he was playing a little prank there |D

Ah okay. :nice:

People think Lebanon is a war zone but it's NOT!!

oh and 80% of lebanese people are christian but people don't get it

I'm guessing you're Christian:P that's not true Micha, there are 3 million Lebanese but only 1.3 million are christians, and don't take this the wrong way but that's kinda offensive, i'm chrstian too and i understand that you said that because the media makes it look like we're all muslim and terrorists...i know we don't agree in politics but that's just:facepalm:

and haven't you been watching the news:whip: there might be another war soon:bigcry:

as for other stereotypes: i don't go to a night club every night, i haven't done any plastic surgery and wouldn't sleep with an arab tourist if he bought me a car......

I live in a hut built on top of trees. We don't have tar roads, only dirt paths we use for walking barefooted and when we're riding in our carts pulled by oxen. We don't have TVs or the internets.

If you've been seeing tourism ads/patriotic music videos for our country, you'd know very well that a Malay person only wears Malaysian traditional clothes, a Chinese only wears Chinese traditional clothes, and Indians only ever wear their traditional clothes. And anyone who's not of the above mentioned races only ever wear ballgowns and tuxedos. :inquisitive:

It is also common knowledge that Malays are lazy and forgetful, the Chinese here are greedy, money-minded and superficial, and the local Indians are violent.

There. I think that's covered all our Malaysian stereotypes...

I have that same problem when people say "violent." People around here have a bad habit about not pronouncing the "n" in that word, and so whenever people say it, I'm like, "Who called? :freak:"

I'm guessing you're Christian:P that's not true Micha, there are 3 million Lebanese but only 1.3 million are christians......

don't know that's what I heard !

anw there's 4 million in Lebanon (I'm sure!-2alouwa marra 3al 2a5bar:P)-->http://www.breathingearth.net/ (proof)

Thanks for the link;), i was wrong but i'm sure that there isn't more than 1.5 million Christians, at school last year we had a couple of conferences about it....

What do you mean only by name? is it that you don't believe or don't practice religion?

Do you have any Scientology churches there?.

^no i don't think so:thinking: the church is pretty strict and doesn't tolerate stuff like this i mean we don't even have the right to a civil marriage because the church doesn't acknowledge it.

i don't have any money and i eat fish all the time while wearing my homemade wool-sweater.

and i also have over 500 reindeer

I'm an illiterate moron and I do not wear shoes. And I live in a trailer. And believe that all liberals should be shot.
