Best way to memorize/study things? :S

Featured Replies

I've never had to study or anything before.

I'm taking anatomy and I want an A because I want to be sure I know things.

Coldplaying, tell me the best way to study and memorize anatomical...stuff.

Nao.

I write things down over and over again to memorize.

Not much difference like Kelsie's method but here's what I always do

1. Write short notes.

2. Read and understand.

3. Take out a piece of paper and scribble everything that you remember.

4. Read and understand again, and learn from your mistakes.

5. Repeat step 3.

6. Repeat step 4.

7. Repeat step 3 & 4 until you really have them all in your mind.

It's kind of tedious, but it works for me.

Henry Hunter likes baking banana cake for Nathan.

Neil makes apple soup, pancakes, strawberry cake at Kelly's castle.

^ First 20 elements in the periodic table. It sounds ridiculous, but it works for me.

But when there are too many things to be memorized, it'll just screw things up. D:

Very funny, Ian. :P

EDIT: Woaaah, I was just singing that song in band today...:o

People revise and learn things differently.

Some people are visual learners, others are auditory and some work better using actions.

You just need to find what's right for you. ;) You may find you are more than one of these things.

I always found it helpful to put my thoughts to actions and repeat things out loud.

Colourful mind maps are helpful too, if you have the time and patience.

Or maybe you could stick post-it notes all around your room.

The best way to revise something, I found, was to teach and discuss what you have learnt with others and do a Q&A session.

Hope that helps. :nice:

wow that's awesome

Sleep on it. No really sleep on it, study then go to bed. Your brain has an easier time remembering stuff in your sleep than when you're awake.

Anatomy?

I never had to repeat stuff over and over again, it came off as an easy subject for me :/

Buuuut.. well anatomy, you need to learn the important names, and basically LOOK AT PICTURES, if you don't look at pictures then you're fucked up cos anatomy is about reading and looking.

In anatomy, a picture basically tells you everything you need to know :/

So read, look at the pics and relate what you read to that.

I get on the exercise bike and read it over and over again.

To memorize all the bones in the body, we used to touch them all and say them in class when I was in high school. Start with the Frontal, parietal occipital.....so on down to the calcaneus.

I wake up like really early and I study. After that, I would go back to sleep, and then wake up again for school. :|

^ I tried doing that many times but it just doesn't work for me. I feel lazy so I just sleep again right away.

to Mad Hatter, use a highlighter-but don't abuse it!

Well, you must have the determination. NO COMPUTERS. But if you feel sleepy, listen to some music at the same time, or munch on something.
