EXACTLY.

I've actually been following this,

I just watched the lady gaga speech at maine today, I would check it out if I was you, if you aren't completely sickened by her of course

( she was however wearing a plain black suit and white shirt, not underpants and glitter :| if that makes any difference)

She made some very good points,

You just had to ignore the meat references and the panto crowd.

Indeed. The last video was discussed to death but this one is new and as you said good points were raised. Points which could be of value to debate. Therefore the video is fine. Any discussion about Lady Gaga herself, rather than the points she raised, are best avoided though as some people will simply use it as an excuse to hijack the thread.

I wonder who would do that?..........................

I didn't see the video, does anyone have the link?

exactly!

Actually one of the things she said

was about how the soldiers who do not work to their full potential because they are uncomfortable around gay soliders because of homophobia should be sent home.

Not the other way around.

Yes. The problem is not with the homosexuals. It is with those who cannot accept them.

Anyone can post here providing they stick to discussing the content of the arguments for and against DADT. Obviously free flowing discussion on other subjects is fine, but if people start arguing about something which isn't connected to what this thread is about then I'll temporarily stick some people (at my own discretion - not everybody involved, but the trouble makers) on ignore so they can't post in my threads. Nobody has done anything wrong though and I'm sure it will stay that way.

The only person who can't post in here (unless I am mistaken) is Dfit00 since I have him on ignore.

it didn't pass, guys.

Damn the American government.

How unfortuante. :(

Oh well, at least homophobes like my parents will be happy. /SARCASM. :blank:

Oh, I see, I didn't quite understand the full story before. Since this proposition was tagged on to another bill (defense spending, ahem), I can see why it didn't pass. It needs to be a completely separate bill, all on its own, and then there would be a better chance of it going through. I think.

Yeah, I just got through reading about that on Yahoo! News. Combining the two bills was not exactly a great idea...
