I didn't understand why everyone fancied Leonardo DiCaprio and I didn't like Celine Dion's soundtrack either. I watched the film when it was on TV later and I can't say I particularly liked it.

It wasn't Celine's soundtrack. She had one song on it. I never really liked the song though.

Okay, why the fuck are the wrappers on pads and tampons so fucking loud when you open them? It's so awkward.

haha, indeed - dom's almost as tall as me though :wink3: ;D but yeah, billy is tiny, as i realized the other week. it's a shame that we never took a pic, i guess it would have looked rather hilarious :awesome:

Yeah, haha, you're kinda tall. :P I don't really know how tall Dom is, but he looks rather short to me too. :uhoh:

Imnerd :lips:

Lorellavi. :lips:

Haha me too, I fell asleep in the cinema when we watched the first one :uhoh2:

dom = 175cm; me = 177cm - it's still alright, wouldn't look too bad on our wedding picture :nice:

if i had to rank the lotr movies it would go

return of the king

fellowship

two towers

lotr is the only thing i am "nerdy" about

:laugh3: Haha, I wasn't planning on anyone responding to that. I don't think I've ever posted in here. :P

The film always just seems like a constant introduction to different creatures. Here's the orks, there's the norks, now there's a talking tree. Oh look we made it this far, find out what happens next film where we go walking through the woods again with random bits of war thrown in. Also fair enough here are a lot of extras involved, but organisation and time management don't impress me if that's one of the selling points. I need something a little more.

Never read the book so can't comment on them.

Yeah you're right. I don't think I disliked the whole soundtrack, just that one song and the fact that all my friends started listening to Celine Dion after they had watched Titanic. :embarrassed:

You all should read the LOTR books. Everytime I finish, I want to start over again ... yes, I am that nerdy. :snobby:

OMG ... I need to start again now. :anxious:

OMG ... and Tolkien's other books ... :dead:

so you don't like the movies?

"The tale of the children of Húrin" from the Unfinished Tales ... I love it too much. :embarrassed: I don't ever want any director to make a movie of that, it would only destroy it's beauty. /nerd

so you don't like the movies?

They aren't awful but they don't interest me. Some of the scenery is nice but that's about it.

Actually something that really annoyed me the other day was a demonstration that LOTR fans did. With everything that was happening in the world right now worth protesting about they chose that! I was praying France wouldn't see it, how embarrassing.

funnily enough i felt exactly the same way when i first saw the fellowship of the ring. i remember my boyfriend and another friend were really obsessed with the movie, but i just didn't get it. about a year later, by the time the two towers came out, i gave it another chance and really got into the characters. [then i joined an elijah wood fan community and became as obsessed as i am now :awesome: ]

i guess he means new zealand people protesting because of plans of moving the hobbit production to another country ;)

Ah, was it in New Zealand? I thought it was in England. That's more understandable. Still pretty lame though.

How did that make English news?

oh, well I think that is perfectly reasonable, the movie will bring billions of dollars into their country and it will create many jobs, the protests aren't just about LOTR.

dunno, maybe they were protesting in england as well, as the people in new zealand were asking for help via all kind of social networks. i agree with arwen that it's reasonable for many reasons. those movies mean a lot to many people anyway, i do understand though why you think it's lame - i would think the same if someone would be protesting because of star wars or something, haha. each to their own though ;)
