Well, according to the article there wasn't going to be a festival in 2012 anyway because of the games.

Yeah, you sort of need security and toilets to run a successful big festival.

They like to have a break every 5 years to give the land time to recover (2001, 2006), it would have been in 2011, but due to the games they have swapped the rest year around, to help with the police costs. It got announced last year that there won´t be a festival in 2012.

hmm... i didn't know that they skip years.

if coldplay is to headline it would be next year imo. 2013 seems a bit too far away and their next world might be over by then. but then again the glasto crowd might be a little more familiar with LP5 by 2013 so it might create a better atmosphere.
