Distracted driving to the extreme

Featured Replies

Seriously? A book between the dashboard and steering wheel. A Kindle in his left hand. A cell phone in his right hand. Makes me wonder what his feet are doing.

So what's the worst case of distracted driving you have witnessed? The most recent one for me was this morning... I saw some dude SHAVING while driving on I-75 going about 70mph (110km/h). :|

It really scares me how little people care about their driving. . . seriously, a car is dangerous. It can kill you and innocent people, and some people just don't seem to get that. :shifty: How would you like it if you were reading your Kindle and ended up causing a crash and killing a baby?

The worst for me was someone eating and drinking without any hands on the wheel. :|

I saw our old car (that we sold to used car lot) drive past a few years ago and the driver was attempting to shove an enormous pizza down his throat :awesome:

This morning someone cut right across me on to the slip road to turn off the motorway, I saw the same driver shaking his fist at someone in front because they were going too slow! What's wrong with that picture! :o

This is another great example of how to get lots of views on youtube (Clearly staged).

I think the worst i saw was a girl smoking and texting at the same time, i was like how the fuck are driving?

Someone told me that they saw a girl using curling iron while driving before.

Anyone else think shaving isn't that bad? I'm not saying I've done it, but I can imagine it being pretty easy (Though only for a rough once over, a tidy up would have to be done on the walk to work).

I Know of someone who sneezed 3 times in a row and they crashed :blank:

But that can't really be helped.

Uh, they could have eased on the brakes?

I know someone who sneezed once and wrote off a car, stupidly he told the insurance company that sneezing was the cause (When I told him even being distracted by a bird nearly hitting the windscreen is much better) but now from an insurance companies point of view, you need to quote someone on the basis that they never sneeze. Ever.

i saw somebody put on make-up while driving in Florida once

^Hahahaha! That's got to be the winner- sleeping.

EDIT: Oops I read wake up.

I am seriously afraid of sneezing while I am driving....I hate that

same... i'm afraid of having a long sneeze (the kind that builds up)

Someone told me that they saw a girl using curling iron while driving before.

Hahahaha! And how many arms did she have?

^Hahahaha! That's got to be the winner- sleeping.

EDIT: Oops I read wake up.

that reminds that i've actually been in two (minor) car crashes where the driver of the other car was sleeping

Once my mum feel asleep for a few seconds in the car :wreck: she woke up just when the car was about to go down in the ditch on the other side of the road.

If they are lucid dreaming that they are in the exact same circumstances then it's fine.

  • 1 month later...

I drove down to North Carolina over Christmas, and saw one person trying to play their Nintendo DS while driving and another reading without a single hand on the wheel. :|

I don't understand how people can do it. I'm learning to drive at the moment and I have to concentrate so much. I think even putting the radio would distract me and I'd probably end up swerving off the road into a bush. :blank:

my mother puts on make-up, texts, balances her checkbook, etc, while driving and it's absolutely horrifying.

And as if I'm not already pissed at her for constantly doing those things, but I have to tell her to stop.
