"I think it got scrapped," Catherine adds.

 

Allison isn't so sure. "They started a record," she says, "and then they scrapped it.

 

"But I heard they pulled the first, initially scrapped, record out and started work on it again. And that's the one we were on.

 

"So I won't know if we're on it or not until it actually comes out."

I think he was being snarky, not stupid. He was trying to say "Well all albums are a series of stories that relate to each other." However, he should wait until he hears the album before making comments about things he doesn't know anything about yet...
