  1. I made a thread a while ago like this. Now here's another one, updated to include the theme for Mylo Xyloto. I don't know how you guys feel, but I really like the aesthetic for Mylo Xyloto. It's like a modernized version of the VLV theme, which was a pretty cool concept in the first place.
  2. i think that going to an underground label would definitely be better because as we all know the more popular something is the shittier it is
  3. This fucking argument again? Look, the vast majority of musical acts that use Autotune do it as a stylistic choice, not as a crutch for people who can't sing. god dammit why am I even on this site still
  4. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Rhianna is a pretty good pop artist, but all the stupid music elitists are going to disagree with me on that based on the sole fact that she sings pop music. The complaint that Coldplay is becoming more mainstream doesn't make sense to me either. They've always been pretty damn mainstream (at least after Speed of Sound), and being mainstream doesn't make something inherently bad anyway.
  5. There's that word again, "heavy." Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?
  6. I kind of agree with you. They can't just keep making the same music over and over. One of the most popular complaints against Coldplay is that all their songs sounded the same. Now, nobody can claim that, regardless of how ignorant they are. But you should never stop criticizing. I definitely see why people don't like it (aside from "bawwwww this isnt rush of blood bawwwwww") and it's kind of refreshing to see some criticism, even if it's just as annoying as the fangirls.
  7. The game he's playing is called Para Para Paradise.
  8. Why would you dream of this? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxQgo94Kl5Y]AX09 - SERIOUS PARA PARA - YouTube[/ame] Finally, I can use my knowledge of obscure Japanese music games to make a terrible joke on the Internet.
  9. Listening to it right now. It's...I dunno. It's fine, I guess. I will agree that it's nowhere near as good as some of the new songs they've come out with, but it's not a bad song I think. I feel like a lot of people who hate the song don't hate the song that much, they're just seeing everyone complain about it, which amplifies their dislike of it and/or compels them to conform to what everyone else is saying.
  11. Did you have the same criticism of his voice on VLV and Prospekt's March? Because Chris sounds just like that on this track. The vocal style on Teardrop is very similar to the vocals on Life in Technicolor II.
  12. OFWGKTA Coldplay, still Blue Scholars Nujabes And a group that I refuse to mention here.
  13. I was using "gem" sarcastically. :dozey:
  14. I'm of the opinion that they haven't ever written great lyrics. The subject matter of their songs is interesting and relatable, and that's always been enough for me. I guess what I'm trying to say isn't that they're allowed to write nonsensical lyrics, it's just that it isn't illogical for that to happen.
  15. I don't get why people are complaining about the lyrics. This is Coldplay, the same band that brought us gems like this: Every step that you take Could be your biggest mistake It could bend or it could break But that's the risk that you take Sure the lyrics are trite and uninspired, but I still think that song is fun as hell to listen and sing along to. It's not really lyrics that make up Coldplay songs, it's the melodies (at least in my opinion). So on that note, I guess I'd say that I'm looking forward to hearing this song, since all the info released up to now hasn't really give
  16. First off, most OF fans are white. Secondly, I don't think they're necessarily "talking shit," at least from what I've heard of them. Guys like Tyler and Earl are kind of reminiscent of early Eminem (but way more violent). Would you have made the same point against Eminem when he uses lines like "I'm a cannibal/I ain't trying to shoot you/I'm trying to cut you into pieces and eat you"? Either way, I like what I hear so far. I'm interested to see how their careers will pan out.
  17. lol @ haters odd future all day, n*ggas EDIT: Aw, come on. Censorship is lame. Anyway, I think these lyrics are better than the original, but then again Coldplay isn't really known for master lyricism. Lately I've been getting pretty into OFWGTKA (the hip-hop group Frank Ocean is in), and I think they're great. Definitely not Ocean's best song, but it's alright.
  18. Artist - Title allows the reader to get more information by just glancing at the list. For instance, you might have no idea who performed "Ode to Deodorant," but putting "Coldplay" right up front makes it more convenient for quick information gathering, especially if you're just skimming through a list, which is probably what you'd be doing for most of this thread. Besides, what is easier to read? This? The Beatles - The End The Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy) The Beatles - And I Love Her The Beatles - Helter Skelter Coldplay - Viva La Vida Coldplay - We Never Change Coldplay
  19. Artist - Title, people. Artist - Title. Anyway: The Doors - Roadhouse Blues Kina Grannis - Valentine Outkast - Return of the G Allan Gray - Swing Doors Crash and the Boys - I'm So Sad, So Very, Very, Sad Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Hysteric Coldplay - Postcards from Far Away Kanye West - Everything I Am U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name The Beatles - You Never Give Me Your Money Nicki Minaj & will.i.am - Check it Out Outkast - Bowtie The Seatbelts - Bad Dog No Biscuits Coldplay - Ode to Deodorant Pendulum - Hold Your Colour 소녀시대 - Chocolate Love Freezepop - Emotions and Photons
  20. I'd love to hear what Coldplay-produced hip-hop sounds like. Chris did a great job on Jay-Z's Beach Chair, but I wonder what would happen if all four guys had their hand in composing a beat or two.
