What Is Pre-Cal any way?
If I remember correctly, it's kind of advanced Algebra with a little introduction to what you would be doing in Calculus.

I think. But again, it's been awhile.

I'm that way too, rarely, I can get a few right and I get excited but then I bomb the test :blank:

I really hate math.

I used to be good in math but next year I'm taking honors algebra 2 and I have my summer packet in front of me and I don't remember how to do anything. :shame:

MAKING YOUNG GIRLS PINE, I DON'T HAVE THE TIME, BABIES GET IN LINE I'VE GOT A PROTRACTOR

GOT A STAPLER NOW IT GOES 'KACHING', GOTTA HAVE THE MATH CLUB CROWN ME KING, GOTTA ROCK THE SCREEN WITH COSINE GRAPHING ON MY CALCULATOR

IF YOU'RE UP, AND IF YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME, WAVE GOODBYE AND BLOW A KISS CAUSE YOU CAN'T HANDLE THIS :charming:

^ That totally reminded me of a lyric I once read:

"YOU'RE A FUNCTIONS GRAPH, AND I'M AN ASYMPTOTE.

WE WILL NEVER TOUCH, BUT WE'VE COME AWFUL CLOSE."

It went something like that, anyway. (I'm surprised I actually remember what that means, honestly.)

I wouldn't say I'm bad at math. I'm actually pretty good at some things. It's just that in order to do so well, I have to work a lot harder at math than I do for English. My AP exam scores are a huge testament to how naturally able I am at these things:

(These are on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the best.)

AP English Language: 4

AP English Literature: 4

AP Calculus AB: 1 :|

I'm taking calculus for the third time right now :|

Have you taken trig at least, Kat? The physics classes I've taken have only involved trig, but there is calculus-based physics too.

I have done some trig in maths yes, i'm not really sure how much maths you need but probably not that much it's just if I decided to take it on to University level I'd be screwed.

How does everyone do math? Like, what courses when in 9th-12th grade?

For us, it's

(9th Algebra 1 if you fail the entry exam, basically you'd just be repeating 8th grade's math and you get set behind everyone a year. . . follows the same track though)

9th- Geometry

10th- Algebra 2

11th- Pre Calc

12th- Calc or Stats

Are those AP scores from this year? You already got yours?

 its okay no one likes math anyway :P

I was one of the math nerds, but for me it was:

9th - don't remember

10th- Trigonometry

11th- Calc I/AB

12th- Calc II/BC

Wow, so much calc! :wreck:

We don't even have trig, it's just a chapter in geometry. . .

Which I'm fine with. Hated that chapter. :P

Edit: i was a math nerd, haha I'm taking honors and whatnot, but I hate how they separate Algebra 1 and 2 here. . . .I seriously forgot everything from algebra 1 :uhoh:

:stunned: Wow, at my high school even the non-math nerds had to take a full year of Trig.

I did everything in 1 year. :|

Yes; Calc I, Calc II, Algebra & Trigonometry, Statistical Methods, all in 1 year :freak:

Yeah. . . I think it's because they wanted the maths to match with the sciences. . .

Biology + Geometry

Chemistry + Algebra 2

Physics + Pre Calc

AP Bio/AP Chem/Planetarium/Anatomy + Calc or Stats

The only one that I see a reason to match up is chem and algebra 2, but whatever.

:surprised: Oh wow, I didn't realize that they matched up the math and sciences. That's actually a good idea! Our high school wasn't quite that coordinated.

Trust me, ours isn't coordinated in any other way.

I really want to take Planetarium though. :dazzled:

If I recall correctly, my high school was like that. At least, that's what I took, anyway (all Pre-AP/AP courses, too). My baby brother is doing this, but taking "regular" classes. Actually, I don't think you even have to have four years of math at my high school to graduate. I'm not sure; I'd have to ask my brother about that one.
