I mean, I'm glad we're not a lynch mob but they let a murderer walk free today.

The State couldn't prove WHO killed Caylee or how she died, yes they had their suspicions, but that isn't enough for the jury to convict. Me along with a big majority of people across the world feel she has blood on her hands, but that doesn't matter now.

They will give her time served for the guilty charges about lying on those different counts, and then someone will hide her away for awhile, her parents won't have her back, if anything her mother Cindy would shelter her, and if that happens George will leave.

She will make the rounds on the tv shows and write a book or sell the rights for a movie.

I suggest she gets a face transplant and move to Siberia, cause there are so many people who are really angry with this all over the world.

She will become very rich 7 figure is being hashed out right now for her interview with one of the prime time stations.

It would be much better if the whole world just completely ignored her, and didn't give her the air time she obviously wants. She doesn't deserve any more attention.

 I rather her keep her murderer face. It suits her.

Definitely.

Casey left her little girl's body to rot in her trunk. Then in the sun in a swamp while roots grew through her little body and animals fed on her.

I think those are s'posed to be good decomposition conditions... bleugh.

I think Casey's defense attorney did say something clever though. Something along the lines of "Today we showed the media that it cannot taint a case like this."

And it's true. Wether she's guilty or not, most people are only seeing the evidence stacked against her. That's what the media does. Especially a media mogul like CNN.

Yeah they were. So good, only thing left was bones.

It's funny because the jury was sequestered and the media wasn't even a factor in deciding the verdict or possibly could "taint" it, like it was cleverly put.

What's even more interesting is, while I agree the majority of people read about the case through media sources that were mostly "anti-Casey", a big portion of this trial was played live. There for you to watch and make up your own mind. Of course, no one knows what it was like to be in the courtroom for hours and being sequestered for 2 months. But to act like you won some battle against the media, c'mon.

Very well put.

I wasn't referring to the jury. I'm talking about all of you who were watching.

In america, you all seem to have forgotten that you're innocent until proven guilty. Who told you she was guilty? CNN did. Look at her now, free.

I don't know about you, but I'm very capable of independent thought, thank you very much. :nice:

The evidence does not lie, and the evidence of her behavior, lies, and cover ups was enough for me to come to my own conclusion that she was a guilty, lying murderer.

Which is why I said we had a chance to watch this trial first hand, live, and make up our own minds. I also said that I do not doubt that most people did only go by what they heard in the media. In terms of the trial, yes it was fair. We are aware that you are innocent until proven guilty. We know that we did not spend countless hours in that court and what was done was fair in the eyes of the 12 jurors that were. As for public opinion, We don't need CNN to tell us the woman who waited 31 days to report her child missing, went partying and got a cute little tat and lied about practically everything! to come to the conclusion that she is not innocent. Yeah she is free, there was justice for Casey but there was none for Caylee. That is why people are bothered. Not everyone is regurgitating CNN rhetoric.

You guys put my opinions into words when my brain couldn't think of them. Props to the both of you.

does anyone agree with me that this case is none of our business unless all other cases get equal coverage. those other lost lives are just as important...

good point. It is true. There are so many other trials within the country that are just as or even more serious that don't get the same coverage.

Even so... I think I sort of understand why the jury picked what they did. I mean there was no hard evidence to show who or how the child was killed. So without that hard evidence I can see why she wasn't charged. At the same time from the way she acted to the police and her family and from all of the lies it seems most logically that she murdered her child.

In the end though I think karma will catch up to her somehow. Either way her life is going to be different because I'm sure when she is let free she will need to be under close supervision from police or security considering how upset people were over this.

The juror who spoke out today said she was sick to her stomach with verdict. She even said she thought Casey did something, but wasn't sure what she did. It's like then why not hold out for a mistrial instead of letting that human stain off scot free. Another juror will only interview if he is paid. Nice guy, ay? Making money off a dead baby.

Casey also said last year when she got out of jail she wanted to get pregnant again. I could throw up at the thought of her being allowed to bring another life into this world. That sack of shit needs to be sterilized.

Every life is important but obviously you can't give all cases coverage. By your logic, why care about anything then? but I understand what you mean and the media coverage is almost uncomfortably incessant.

Too true. What happens, though, is that certain cases are handpicked based on what seems to be a better news story. It's sad, but true. Also, there are only so many cases that can be covered. On an episode of "The First 48" I watched once, they mentioned that the number of murders that take place annually in this country are in the tens of thousands. (I can't remember specifically what the number was, but I think it was something around 17,000.) I guess it's just how the cookie crumbles. This is another example of how unfair and cruel our world can really be.

Casey's parents (George and Cindy) have already received a substantial amount of death threats, and they weren't even on trial for it. Casey might want to be careful.

Speaking of which, I can't help but feel sorry for Casey's family. They've had to go through so much (and still are).

That makes me wonder, did that juror even mention that to the others? I was actually not nearly as surprised about the verdict itself as I was at how quickly they decided on it. It took a little less than 11 hours for them to decide that she wasn't guilty. I thought they would at least take a few days to deliberate.

That guy needs to get punched in the face.

I feel sorry for her parents though I do feel they are to blame for her actions. We are so influenced by our parents and how they raise us that in some sense her parents clearly didn't raise her right to have her commit this kind of crime.

But I also feel that if I was her parents I wouldn't want her around. Especially the father. I mean we don't know what happened specifically, but the fact that throughout all of this that the defense goes and attacks the father is pretty terrible.

Of course I don't know what fully happened, what the chemistry and history is between the father and Casey... but from my perspective it's fucked up and I don't think I could stand to be with my child that throws me under the bus if I was in that scenario.

I do wonder where she will live since she made up such terrible lies about her father. I cant imagine him wanting anything to do with her. The whole thing is so sad.

We are, but you know, there are things that are out of our parents' control. If I were completely influenced by my parents, then I'd be as narrowminded and intolerant as they are. I think at some point, a person has to make their own decisions. Casey's parents aren't to blame for something that she did on her own will.

PSH. No kidding, man. George got the brunt of it all. There was one point towards the end of the trial when his suicide attempt was brought up, and as he talked about it, he got emotional and cried on the stand. He tearfully explained how he felt like he needed to be with Caylee. It was so genuine, and I felt nothing but sorrow for him. What did Casey do while this was going on? Nothing. She sat stone-faced as she stared at her father. This man is pouring out his soul to people he doesn't know and crying over his dead granddaughter, and all she can do is sit blankly? -shakes head-

Clearly the girl is mentally unstable. The fact that she could murder her precious child and go off and party for a month without a care in the world, says a lot. And when questioned she got mad and was more interested in getting her bf's number than finding her child. Not to mention how she made up people and jobs and never thought twice about it.

The other juror who was scheduled for a vacation cruise probably threatened her to get it over with asap.

Okay, probably not, but I'm sure the "urgency" of one of the jurors going on vacation didn't help. Kind of sad.

You know, Caroline, you've sparked something in my head.

I think a lot of people think she's a murderer because she's a liar. She has lied about everything pertaining to this case. Therefore, people have this mentality of, "Well, since she's lied about everything else, surely she's lying about this, too." While that makes perfect logical sense, the thing is, you can't convict someone of murder just because of that. This is what the defense has said the whole time, and I think I understand for the first time what people who are on the other side of this case were trying to convey to all of us who were (and still are, some of us) convinced that she was (is) guilty as sin. As much sense as it seems to make to us to convict someone based on something like that, it's not enough, and honestly, it skews a person's view on things. I'm sure at least some of the jury FELT like she did something, but they couldn't prove it because there wasn't enough hard evidence to substantiate it.

I've probably repeated way too many things that have already been stated in this thread, but I thought I'd share. No matter how much we feel that she's guilty, it's not enough. Does the verdict mean she's not guilty? Not necessarily; it merely means she can't be convicted of it. Like Carrie mentioned earlier in this thread, being "not guilty" doesn't make you "innocent." At any rate, I think she's already been convicted in the minds of most people, which still affects her life greatly. She's being pretty much shunned from society because of all this. I think that despite the lack of a jail sentence, she's still being punished.

At the end of the day, it doesn't change that the world lost a little girl way too soon.
