Go for OK Computer first then The Bends and see what you think.
May 8, 200719 yr Here is how I went: The Bends, then OK Computer, then Kid A, then Amnesiac, then Hail to the Thief All of them are good in my opinion. Hail to the thief may be a little weaker than the other albums but still an excellent album. Any one of them you get will not dissapoint, especially if you already love the Kid A live stuff.
May 8, 200719 yr thank you guys! i've been listening to OK Computer today (i downloaded it, but i'm gonna buy a copy as soon as i get to the store...i might pick up the Bends while i'm at it as well), and i think my brain just exploded!! holy cow, you guys, why haven't i listened to this before?! haha i live in a hole, mind you...nobody here has even heard of radiohead. :\ looky what i found (thank you, google) - Thom Yorke is so adorable, haha: aww

If you can keep an open mind, I'd check out Kid A next. It can take a bit longer for some people to get into, but is totally brilliant. The Bends is awsome too if you want something more rock oriented. And wow that pic is old! But yeah adorable... I don't think I've ever seen him with his hair quite like that...
May 8, 200719 yr I listened to OK Computer first too, and had exactly the same reaction. ;) haha, glad i'm not the only one :P Paranoid Android makes me twitch and play air guitar in the most uncontrollable ways... then it makes me cry ..then twitch and airguitar again. amazing!:shocked2: Yeah, i'll probably go for Kid A next. i hope it's not too weird...i've read some pretty scary reviews but i absolutely love the live version of Kid A that i downloaded by mistake thinking it was coldplay. :laugh3: limewire is a bitch, things get mislabled all the time.
May 8, 200719 yr Kid A took me 3 or 4 listens to really get into it and appreciate it. My advice if and when you get it is to just listen to it from beginning to end. Maybe while reading or do something relaxing. I think it will really grow on you.
May 8, 200719 yr ^ That's exactly how I got into Kid A. But the first Radiohead album I listened to was Amnesiac, while changing my guitar strings at a friend's, and I loved it instantly.
May 8, 200719 yr yup, of course. I'll do that in the evening.. :) here are those tracks... enjoy :) Hmm... firstly my friend sent me some songs, mostly from OK Comptuer. Then a few days later she sent me whole OKC and I liked it quite a lot, and so I started downloading other albums (but I'm planning to buy some when I get some money). The next one was Amnesiac, I liked it immediately. Then I moved to Pablo Honey and was surprised at the fact that their style changed so much during the years. Later I got The Bends, Kid A and HTTT. I like them all, though I agree with Briggins - Hail to the Thief isn't that good as others, but it's still a very good album =)
May 8, 200719 yr When I got Ok Computer for christmas when I was 13 I was so dissapointed. I only liked the songs I already knew and Fitter Happier. Now it's okay. I just don't, um, love it. As an album, I mean. It actually put me off Radiohead for some time. Had I not loved Hail to the Thief so much.
May 8, 200719 yr I think HTTT is as brilliant as others, I love every song of HTTT, and with the other albums there's always at least one song i dont like. I love them all
May 8, 200719 yr I know. If there is such thing as an underrated Radiohead album it must be Hail to the thief. Overrated: Ok Computer and The Bends. Amnesiac and Kid A are soooo much better.
May 8, 200719 yr Slightly off topic from what we have been talking about but.... ....you Radiohead fans might find this little article interesting. Check out the page http://www.greenplastic.com/news/archives/2007/05/over_your_shoul.php Its about the little head looking over thom's shoulder.

Check out the page http://www.greenplastic.com/news/archives/2007/05/over_your_shoul.php Its about the little head looking over thom's shoulder. this is very interesting. have you guys listened to the sample of binaural recording in the wikipedia article the article links to? (you have to wear headphones for it to work) it's kinda creepy, especially at the end. :stunned:
May 8, 200719 yr well, i downloaded the whole discography yesterday (i'll be buying it eventually, i promise :anxious:) so i've been listening to Kid A and i can see now why it's the most loved and hated album at the same time :P it's totally feckin' nuts haha, but in a good way i think. gotta love the jazzzzz wow, the album version of Kid A (the song) sounds nothing like the way they perform it live. so far my favourites are Everything in Its Right Place, The National Anthem, Optimistic, Idioteque, Morning Bell, In Limbo and How To Disappear Completely (this one is so haunting and beautiful, it's surreal) verdict: the album is dope! i'm sure i'll love it even more once i really get into it. everyone....everyone around here...everyone is so near... it's amazing how they went from focussing on the melody to focussing on the rhythm just like that, and made it work spectacularly. brilliant...

(you have to wear headphones for it to work) it's kinda creepy, especially at the end. :stunned: W O W. Interesting. Well, having Thom around here wouldn't really be a thing I'd be avoiding :D But, uhm, Pony, can you please post the link to that binaural encoding? Thank yeh! found the link... And btw, welcome on the board! Didn't really greeted you yet. :embarassed: Mhm, Kid A is excellent. I love How To Disappear Completely... and especially Idioteque - it's my favourite, actually.
May 8, 200719 yr And btw, welcome on the board! Didn't really greeted you yet. :embarassed: aww, thank you! :) gosh, i love YouTube, there's so much to see... found a video of You - live in Astoria 1994: man, they sound so tight! i'm impressed. odd, i don't recollect anything on Publo Honey sounding as good as this performance. it's so... dare i say.. orgasmic..haha! Thom Yorke looks so cute with that longish bleached hair. :P
May 8, 200719 yr I love that performance. I even love the DVD although on CD I dislike most of these songs. They turned Blow Out into something else there.
May 8, 200719 yr Idioteque was probably the first song of Radiohead I got into. I still love it. i love it. what does he sing at the end? i can't make it out...the lyrics i found says it's "the first of the children", but it doesn't really sound like that...
May 8, 200719 yr I love that performance. I even love the DVD although on CD I dislike most of these songs. They turned Blow Out into something else there. yeah, it seems like it's one of those cases when the live performances totally outshine the album versions, cause the album got ruined by poor production
May 8, 200719 yr i love it. what does he sing at the end? i can't make it out...the lyrics i found says it's "the first of the children", but it doesn't really sound like that... it sounds to me like "then fathers with the children" ... :stunned:
