The great cinema food revolt

Featured Replies

I prefer to buy it from somewhere else because the popcorn you get in cinemas is often full of fat.

Aye, the cups cost more to the cinema than the actual bags of popcorn they buy in.

I saw that on Heston Blumenthal's programme! The cups are probably more nutritious too!

"Fat" air? Now I've heard it all!:P

It is! Popcorn is supposed be a quite healthy snack but my friend looked into when she was on diet last year and she found out that a bag of popcorn you buy at the cinema can have over 1000 calories.

At that rate, it really will make you go "pop"!!:stunned:

$15 for a cinema ticket???? ARE THEY FREAKING OUT OF THEIR MINDS?????

it's like $3 in my country and I complain it's too expensive :inquisitive:

I love popcorn ,and I buy it whenever I go to the cinema,

I want popcorn now

It's too damn expensive. You're not allowed bringing anything in but water in Canada, but it's usually teenager that are working at these places so they won't say anything if you bring in food.

Heh, same here. Although I always find creative ways to smuggle them in. Recent escapades include hiding one bottle of drink at the bottom of my handbag (which looked so obvious but still got through) and balancing the other between the sides of my boyfriend and myself as we walked awkwardly crammed together. That one worked too, oddly.

Things seem to be pretty relaxed in Germany. Bags are never searched, and I often notice that other people have managed to sneak in bottles of beer, because the bottles are left behind afterwards.
