42JTR
I can't help but thinking of A Message when that amazing JB Guitar solo kicks in, am I the only one ?
RiotFever
It reminds me more of MTM
bdevil89
Yeah - u're right - it's like a slowed down version of the same kind of harmony and rhythm - agree with you.
MosesTheMarshmallow
Very similar sliding-entry, repetition, and guitar effects...so yes. And the chord progression is superficially similar. But the actual melody itself is pretty similar to MTM. Pretty cool though. :)

MosesTheMarshmallow
Actually, the chord progression is the same. Actually, A Message goes Ebm - Db - Ab, and Paradise goes Gm - Bb - F - C. :p
Blockflote
Actually, A Message goes Ebm - Db - Ab, and Paradise goes Gm - Bb - F - C. :p I said "chord progression", not "same chords tones" :P And it's actually: A Message goes Ebm - Gb - Db - Ab, and Paradise goes Gm - Bb - F - C. Same chord progression :P
Violet
Actually, A Message goes Ebm - Db - Ab, and Paradise goes Gm - Bb - F - C. :p Actually, "A Message" is in D-flat, not E-flat. EDIT: Never mind, you were talking about a different progression in the middle of the song. My mistake.

MosesTheMarshmallow
No it really is Em-Db-Ab. Listen to the bass if you're not sure. Although I can see why you'd think it's the same because it sounds pretty good on Paradise's progression (which, fun fact, is the same as Wonderwall and the slew of songs that uses that progression). Guest howyousawtheworld
It does a bit in the way it steels the climax
Sleep
The solo in Paradise reminds me of A Message and the vocal line in Up In Flames reminds me of A Message :o
