Gravity cover and music video

this was the first cover and only cover song i've ever done.

i write tons of songs but i'm horrible at covers

with reading music etc..

but the song has a simplicity to it that even i could somewhat grasp

and it's probably the saddest, most beautiful song ever

but this didn't come out so bad i don't think

hope you guys enjoy

Your keyboard doesn't really sound that good.

the drums in the end were great,

and the synths and stuff

for a first cover you have great eye for detail

some expert (mr Champion, for example) might have some good feedback for singing,

all I can say is practice makes perfect :nice:

As strikie said, the keyboards sound pretty afwul, coud also use a bit more reverb and better mixing and panning.

Vocals are okay, here and there out of tune but not bad at all!

But you could try to sing louder, open your mouth better especialy. It sounds your mouth is closed sometimes.

The 'extra' instruments surprised me, it adds a lot to it, it especialy fills up the gaps! Which it should do and does!

The end is wonderfull must say! Could use some better mixing, especialy the drums and the overall volume.

Keep on going and try to learn from my critics on your cover.

You're too good to me : O I am no expert : (

I like the vocal. But as the guys mentioned you were sometimes really out of tune. And the chorus was quite weird. This was the moment when I understood what they meant. You really sounded as if you would try to sing with your mouth half opened. Thanks God, that you got rid of that later on (in time I mean, listening to that great song of yours).

The Keyboard is good, but you just didn't have a sustain pedal. And it was sometimes out of time and you missed one or two notes, but those weren't any obstacles in listening. So the worst thing about the keyboard was definitely the lack of sustain as it was really hearable. I agree that the drums were great. The kind of background also.

wow, i feel like i got the shit critiqued out of me. :P

no, thanks guys...i really appreciate you guys taking the time to listen and point out things that could make it better.

yeah, this was done about a year or so ago...so i've improved on a few things.

as far as the mouth half closed thing...i don't hear that myself but i do find it interesting...i was having a cancer scare due to a sore throat i had for months that never went away during the period this song was made. could have something to do with it i guess.

what was wrong with me you might ask? it was tonsil stones

and to this day i still have them...but intermittently

but, as i'm typing this i'm thinking maybe my throat thing wasn't it.

i have this fascination with vocals...that are whispery and fragile. i'm thinking i was trying to recreate that...without success of course.

not being thom yorke can get to me sometimes.
