Multiple Shows / City?

Featured Replies

Just looked at the North American tourdates... I wonder if they're planning on having multiple shows / city. Dates are spread out btw cities, time for 2nd shows, where necessary.

I don't think so. Well it could be possible for Ottawa and Quebec city for example.

Pretty sure...

Think they could almost pull off a stadium tour, and this is their way of almost doing it (or maybe they want the arena vibe).

3 dates between big city shows = room for more shows for big cities.

Exceptions are:

Calgary/Edmonton

Portland/Seatlle

Smaller cities, less population = Back to back dates

Underlying Trend for all = Trying to get max attendance per area. In MTL, you get multiple dates... in Calgary/Edmonton, you get back-to-back dates, one each...

Already 2 LA dates.

Just my thought.

That's possible too... but I could easily see MTL getting a second date.

More shows in the area.

I don't think they will do this. They never did it in Montreal, and Quebec City tried to get them this summer, but it didn't work out. So that would be more possible. And if Montreal gets a second date, when would that be announced?

We're having the same discussion in two threads :laugh3:

What strikes me about the list is the big cities, with big spaces in-between. If they have the intention of playing other cities in the areas, they could've announced them now, and the list would've looked more "typical".

TO - July 23

MTL - July 26

Boston - July 29

It's true, but I don't know I just don't imagine them doing 2 shows in Montreal, they've never done it.

They haven't been that band yet, but they're probably big enough to pull it off now.

In 2008, they played MTL (July) and Ottawa (October).

In 2009, they played MTL too.

That's why I think they'll be going to Ottawa instead of a second one in Montreal.

The tour schedule will probably look something like this. 2nd shows won't be announced until the 1st shows sell out, as is usually standard with any band.

Missing cities/areas missed that will probably come late in year after Europe tour, or sometime next year:

Carolina- Raleigh or Charlotte

Tennessee- Memphis or Nashville

Ohio- Cincy, Columbus or Cleveland... (HOPEFULLY ALL!)

Detroit

Pittsburgh

Upstate NY- Saratoga SPrings, Buffalo, etc

Midwest- St. Louis, Kansas City, Des Moines, Omaha, Milwaukee, Indianapolis

Denver

Salt Lake City

Las Vegas

Phoenix

Winnipeg

New orleans

Oklahoma

San antonio

SAn Diego

I could see either New Orleans or Orlando between Houston 6/25 and Tampa 6/28

I'm hoping Coldplay plays bluesfest in Ottawa. Bluesfest is from July 4 to July 15 and Coldplay has a gap in their schedule from the 9th to the 23rd. They'll announce the bluesfest shows in april so I guess we'll find out then.
