Paradise commercial use

Featured Replies

I apologize if another thread exists regarding this subject. I could not find it. I have heard Paradise used commercially in at least three instances. One instance was on a Nascar commercial, another was fade music on the HLN network, and I can't remember where I heard the other. I was under the impression that Coldplay does not release its music for commercial purposes. Has this policy changed? Can anyone give me information regarding the commercial use of Coldplay's music. Thanks.

this one is a trailer, not a commercial. Don't know about the other two.

NASCAR?! :freak:

Seriously, that's like the most anti-Coldplay thing in the world. :laugh3:

No reason for them not to do the Super Bowl then.

I have been noticing coldplay using more songs in commercials and stuff. they used to be so against that

Just last week clocks was used in the office, and now another coldplay song will be used in the upcoming spiderman movie

I know they've forbidden their songs being used to advertise specific products (Gatorade, Diet Coke and Gap for example) but I think the rules are different when it comes to trailers and commercials for other things. Several of their songs have been used in TV shows and movies, and I know I've heard them on adverts for TV shows. If they needed to ask the band's permission to use those songs then I doubt they would have been able to use them.

I heard ETIAW as part of the golf U.S. Open highlight reel at the end, and LiT ii used by NBC for another golf tourney!

Oh and for the NASCAR using Paradise, FOX used Paradise for the final game of the baseball World Series too, so I'm guess they've got a little affair going on with Para.
