March 22, 201214 yr So, theres this party coming up on this weekend and my girlfriend wanted me to go so she can watch me get drunk, but im uncomfortable about doing that since i dont like the type of crowd thats gonna be there (Drunk Rednecks, which im not.) so i said i didnt want to go but ill go if shes still going just to watch out for her, she wont be going. now she's telling me that i cant go because ill be too protective. And now we are fighting because i dont want her to go to a party with a bunch of drunk guys, and shes saying that im being too protective, annoying, and untrusting... So what should i do about this :shame:
March 22, 201214 yr If I were you, I think the best option is to just apologise for coming across as controlling - say you were just worried about her and stand by her decision to go. If she wants to go, she will go anyway and if she can't be trusted to go to a party by herself for a night then it's better off knowing now than later.

Ive tried it before and i personally think its over hyped But the only thing i can do is let her do what she wants and If she does anything bad that i wouldnt want her to do i told her to break up with me the day after. So oh well if she ruins our relationship theres plenty of other fish in the sea and ill end up fine.

See, that's the info we need~ if you're having one of those back and forth type of things, where things get big and build up, first try to explain all of this to her. get it through to her head. "this action hurts me, because i have feelings." i mean, a lot of times it's simply the communication of feelings that is the major problem. here comes the obligatory relationship story~ i get into fights all the time with my boyfriend because we are both really shit at talking about what bothers us, so it all builds up and there's a huge explosive fight about something that is actually very trivial. but if she doesn't change that behavior, she's just kind of bitchy, to be honest.
