FaceTime question

Featured Replies

So I'm knew to the iPad and that whole chabang, but my guitar teacher lives in California and we're trying to do lessons over FaceTime. However, when ever I call him (or he calls me) it says that he's unavailable for chat, which isn't true cause he's sittin' there trying to work the thing! Anyone else ever have this problem and know how to fix it?

Thanks.:)

Make sure you are both connected to WiFi.

Well, we're both chatting over gmail so I assume his wifi is on

I assume you're both using iPad's, right? Which iPad?

1st generation for me. I don't know for him though...

1st Generation iPad's didn't have any sort of camera. Are you sure it's the first gen?

Hmm...well it's definitely not 3rd so I guess I have an IPad 2 (Who knew!). I talked to him and so far it seems like the problem's on his end...

Maybe one of you has an older version and didn't upgrade it to have FaceTime? I forgot if the elder versions had FaceTime or not.. :/
