i missed american idol AGAIN tonight, had to go to my internship at the hard rock, but anyways, did anyone see it? how did everyone do?

damn nobody cares about american idol anymore

I dont care anymore either, i missed tonights episode again and im going to miss next week too, whatever,

Carmen is awful. Poor bird was born in Edmonton. I loved Simon's comment about her: she was like a child singing in front of her parents and she should shut up. It's harsh but I agree. I don't know how she got chosen as a wild-card.

this was so funny ...typical Simon...he can't just critisice once he has to really stab the knife in... but apart from anything I think he is almost always right!

I also think Rueben should as Simon says sing more of a variety ...

how could rueben be in the bottom two? that's insanity!! lol.

what's with rueben showing no emotion ever. he doesn't even look like he cares that he's there. lol. when he was standing there in the bottom two it looked like he was bored.

It's completely insane that Josh wasn't kicked off this week! What's wrong with you, America! And another thing, is anyone else bothered by his facial expressions when he sings? Ugh, put a bag over his head.

You mean Josh's face? Yeah, it's a bit weird. It better be his turn next week or else I'm not watching anymore.

Yeah, I mean Josh's face - the way he scrunches it and flaps his jaw. He should've been kicked out of there a long time ago.

yeah out with Josh...I cant wait to see it on Fri Nite ...shushhh dont tell me lol ...I have to wait til then to c it over here.... I used to like rueben but hes gettin a bit predictable....he wil prob win due to the fanbase tho I shd imagine?

I don't wanna talk about it....i'm still in shock that america placed Ruben in the bottom two...i mean, come on!!! :?

I'm slowly losing faith in america... :)

Man, only three left... Who is everyone rooting for? Am I the only guy who watches the show? heh...

I think the three that are left are the best three in the top twelve and I'm glad that it ended up like this... The winner will definitely be either Ruben or Clay, who both have incredible voices...

If Ruben wins, I hope his record label doesnt sucker him into making bland R&B/Pop to appeal to teenie boppers (like Justin Guarini, did you notice how awful his song is?), he should bring REAL classic soul back into the music scene and do the Barry White thing, which would be awesome...

If Clay wins, he'll probably have an "Elton John meets Josh Groban" kinda thing and will probably have a heavily produced love ballad hit on VH1... He doesnt have a pop-star voice, which is a good thing, because it brings variety into the competition, which is what pop-music strongly needs... variety...

Who Shouldnt Have Been in the Top Twelve: Carmen and Julia DaMato. I was shocked when they got picked. I was also shocked that Julia beat out Trenyce in the first group.

Little Nemo!! Don't feel weird that you're the only guy on this board who watches this show. It's not a bad show.

Okay, i agree with you about the three left. Kimberly, Clay and Ruben definitely deserve to be there. There are performances by these three that are like.."whoa" for example when Kim sang "Where the boys are" i was literally like :o I couldn't believe how great she sounded. WHen Ruben sang "How Do you mend a broken heart" , i almost lost it.. he sounds amazing. Clay definitely shocks me... his rendition of Solitaire was fantastic.

I also hope that if Ruben wins they won't try and change him. He should definitely stay with that classic soul sound. I think it'll be a healthy change. Oh, and Justin's song was soo boring and terrible i changed the channel. I never liked him, really.

OMG! I totally agree with the Josh Groban thing!! That's the first thing i said when i heard him sing.

Julia and Carmen sucked. I did not like them at all!! Trenyce shouldn't have been let go before Josh..i thought that was pretty bad.

But I'm all about Ruben! RUUUUU-BEN!!

I liked Josh during the semi-finals... but once he went to the finals, he lost something. I think its because he tries too hard to sing the way he does. I've learned from voice lessons that you're not supposed to move your jaw like that. Singing the way you do should be natural, and I dont think that the country thing was natural for him. He also sings through his nose, and he tries to move his throat when he sings quick notes, like at the end of a verse. He pays attention too much attention to how he's singing (style), and not enough attention to what he's singing (pitch). But still, if it werent for the country thing, he would have been out of the competition long ago, because aparently there's a lot of country fans who watch the show (thus why Carmen stayed so long).

I agree. I was a bit confused with Josh at first. I didn't know what style he was going for and when he finally settled on everything country, that halted my interest in him. Carmen was always a confusing choice for me. I had no reason why Simon picked her for the finals. Frankly, i thought her rendition of "Can't Fight the Moonlight" was pretty bad, but i guess he saw something in her that i didn't. Many of my friends said that he chose her b/c she fit the image of a "pop-star" the best, which is completely true. She's young and she's pretty, so i guess he wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. I, however, didn't think she belonged with the likes of Trenyce, Kimberly Locke, Ruben and Clay. She just didn't hold her own when placed beside them.

So, who do you think's gonna take it based on the performances that you've seen so far?

I'm so glad Josh finally got the boot. He shouldn't have lasted as long as he did. Yeah, Carmen was definitley nothing special at all - she basically fit the "look" of a pop star. One thing that bothered me about her singing was that vibratto (?) thing she did with her voice - she sounded like a sheep at times.

I think the three that are left all deserve to be there. I've got a little bit of a conflict here. I like Clay and I'm pulling for him to win. Like Kelly Clarkson last year, he's never been in the bottom three or two (so far), so he's got that going for him. The problem is, I sort of agree with a comment Simon made about him. I think Clay's got an amazing voice for the musical theater - like on Broadway or something. I really don't see him following the path that is being carved out for Kelly - the role of a pop star. He really has the potential of being a star in the theater. In a way I feel winning American Idol could limit that potential. Of course, all this assuming he has any interest in musical theater.

Ah, I'm rambling. Kimberly, Ruben, and Clay all are terrific singers and any of them deserve to win. :)

Yes! I was beginning to think I was the only one who heard that. Her voice just drove me up the wall.

I'm a Ruben girl but I think America is going to choose Clay.

Yeah..i think Clay's got it in the bag..but i don't like his image..he doesn't have a pop star image either..he's got an adult contempo image. Plus, if i ever saw one of his videos, i think i'd die from laughing at his face...hahahaha..

Ruben on the other hand.....i love watching him perform!! He's fantastic...

hopefully America agrees with me..

I think they are both liked in their own ways...although I think Clay looks like a puppet...or muppet... :D

The thing is, when i see Clay, i don't think he'll ever be taken seriously!! At least Kelly Clarkson fits into the female "pop star" persona. But Clay i think will stick out like a sore thumb, whichever genre of music he ends up doing. He's like Josh Groban, but goofier!! I mean, it just doesn't work for me. But who knows..maybe i'll be wrong and he'll be completely successful!

did any of ya see pop idol in the UK with Will Young etc
