OP, you care too much about image. First of all, mocking Lady Gaga and Bieber is very typical of REAL MUSIC LOVERSSSS who dismiss pop music because it's 'cool' to do so. Even if you genuinely don't like Bieber and Gaga, who cares about Coldplay's image? Do you listen to music because it's beautiful or because 'cool' people approve of it? Even if Coldplay goes out and does something absolutely stupid, you should still listen to Coldplay if you like them, because nothing changed with their music.

The whole 'selling out' concept has been around forever and probably will be around as long as there's music. 'Ridiculous' as it is, there's nothing imo that can be done.

I never said I support artists like Lady Gaga, etc. I like rock-oriented bands, so yes, I agree that they are very good musicians. That said, I don't think you understand Chris is just being nice.

 

It's better than some artists consistently dissing the music industry for anything they don't like.

guys i guess im still getting used to this new chris/coldplay! :\ mainstream pop particularly the ones i've mentioned really irritate me and i think they're murdering music so i don't like my favourite artists associating themselves with any of it. and its not just chris if bono did anything like this i'd go and personally address him :P
