Even so, I've decided to go for a 3rd party candidate.

Third debate is tonight.

This will be getting competition from Monday Night Football and from Game 7 of the NLCS (which determines who will go to the World Series).

Therefore, methinks ratings for the debate will be relatively low this time around.

Where do you think it's heading, particularly those % of voters? Looking at some of the polls and some websites and it's so close it seems! Could we have another 2000 on our hands? It seems Florida is leading the race to be the key battleground state again. Ohio could be interesting though - heard it has accurately elected the winning candidate for the last 12 presidential elections and that it seems to be leaning ever so slightly towards Obama at the moment.

For those voting early, it's hard to say because the results for those won't be released until after the polls close on election day anyway. I'm not sure there's any particular pattern for early voters, just those who know they won't have much time on election day and/or won't be in town that day (if you vote in person, you can only go to your specific voting precinct).

 

The polls may be close right now, but also keep in mind that we have the lovely little ability to elect someone into office even if they don't have the majority of the actual popular vote. Each State is "all or nothing" with the electoral votes, more populous States get more electoral votes, that's part of the reason why election night after the polls close is so interesting.

 

I'm trying to find a funny little video from Saturday Night Live that pokes fun at all the polls. While I'm looking, I'll put this here in the meantime.

 

There's actually polling on early voting. Last time I checked, Obama was leading by a wide margin among early voters 50s/30s.

Although I just ignore them, and they aren't allowed within a certain distance of the entrance.

 

I wonder how long I will have to wait in line. I also wonder how long the voting process itself will take; there will be a boatload of stuff on the ballot, not just voting for the President.

 

I will be glad when I don't have to listen to all these commercials anymore! Ugh!

I read that spending on these US elections was exceeding £2 billion! Extortionate seems too light a word!
