MaxRide
Well, if you want to be really technical about it, the egg came first. Dinosaurs laid eggs before chickens did. :P

Troxley
Well, if you want to be really technical about it, the egg came first. Dinosaurs laid eggs before chickens did. :P Unless you believe the book of Genesis, in which case the chicken would have come before the dinosaurs...So this simple question can spark a big debate among evolutionists and those who take Genesis seriously. There could be a particularly heated argument amongst scientist of these opposing veiwpoints. :| :book2:
MaxRide
well there are kind of dinosaur bones in the ground/that have been dug up out of the ground :| EDIT: also, I'm not trying to spark a debate here, but doesn't Genesis also basically give a starting of date around 3000 BC? I mean, you can't take everything literally.

The point is that such a little (and silly) question can spark a huge argument.

Oh, I'm not saying that you did; I'm just saying that if chickens were around at the same time as dinosaurs, then there would be chicken fossils that are the same age as/older than those dinosaur fossils, and, no one has even discovered fossils that are identical/extremely similar to chicken bones/skeletons that are as old as the oldest known dinosaurs. Just putting that out there. ~ Oh, oracle, how does one bake the perfect brownies?

You know, I read stuff in my science book a few years ago about this, but I can't seem to remember it. :\ Hey Not-the-oracle, did you know that there were 42 generations between Abraham and Jesus. Edit: And Anna, I have a really good brownie recipe. :P
MaxRide
I don't even know how long a generation is, so that means nothing to me. :P but 42 yeahhh

Troxley
Well, yeah, I know that, but how long is a time "between generations" supposed to be? Well, they lived longer back then, because they didn't have all that nasty fake stuff in their food, and not much pollution...so they probably had children at a later age. So, I don't know, but 42 generations is a long time.

MaxRide
^^ Then again, they also were at more risk of disease in general. (this is pretty much true for time periods up to 1850, actually; our lifespans have only really increased a significant amount since the industrial revolution) According to several websites, 40 years= 1 [biblical] generation. So, yeah, that's a really freaking long time. xD (1680 years, to be exact)
