But, let's pretend for the sake of argument that the two-space thing became standard for ending a sentence / transition to the next sentence. To give a concrete example, here in Slovenia, some people don't know that the word for /desired, welcome/ is written like this: zaželen because EVERYONE says zaželjen and the latter form has always been frowned upon but I think that lately, things have changed a bit and so zaželjen is acceptable, too.
